PUNTABULOUS DOES THE MOVIES

Here I am when I appeared in the classic 80′s fantasy film “The Dark Crystal”.

There was no reason I couldn’t have a little fun before replacing the final crystal shard.*

So I watched this movie for the first time this weekend. How had this movie evaded me for so long? It just screams “Craig! Watch me! You will love me!” It had magical creatures, silliness and muppets. What’s not to love? I almost didn’t mind the creepy expressionless Gelflings. I say “almost” because they did occasionally freak me out. Not terribly different than the humans in “Toy Story”.

I’m on a mission to watch all of those classic 80′s fantasy movies that I somehow missed. On deck is Labyrinth, Legend, and E.T. (Don’t even ask how I still haven’t seen E.T.) If anyone happens to have any of these DVDs they want to lend me, I would be much obliged.

*I apologize for the perviness of this post. Muppets bring out the worst in me.

Kudos to you for watching The Dark Crystal! That is my sister’s favorite movie – it freaked me out too much as a kid (esp. since one of the main characters is named Jen) and I haven’t been able to look at it ever since. Kinda like The Neverending Story. The one time I tried to watch that, I threw up. So now I equate that movie with vomit. You will love Labyrinth – David Bowie!!

I loved the neverending story- as a child of the 80′s

another really F ed up, but likeably bizarre 80′s fantasy movie is Return to OZ. If you haven’t seen it I recommend that you do.
