We all have them. We’re not proud of them, but we can’t help ourselves. They’re the movies we can’t help but hold near and dear to our hearts. Whether we hide them amongst our DVD collections or internally shout for joy when we come across them on television. They are our guilty pleasure movies. These are mine:

Halle Berry doesn’t even come close to the awesomeness that Michelle Pfeiffer reached when she played Catwoman in Batman Returns, but that’s part of the fun. At the very end when Sharon Stone is about to kill Catwoman, the following exchange takes place:
Sharon Stone: Game over.
Halle Berry: Guess what? It’s overtime!
And then they start fighting again. Awesome. I actually got my parents to watch this with me by convincing them that it would be “fun”. They still haven’t forgiven me.

This is by far the worst of the Batman movies. It’s so cheesy and over the top that you can’t help but love it. Bat nipples? You betcha! Alicia Silverstone? I’m there! Batman and Robin just happen to have ice skates built into their boots to fight Mr. Freeze? Sure! Uma Thurman at one point actually says “Curses!”. It’s genius. It’s a shame though because I feel like underneath the toy commercial, there actually might have been a good movie there. George Clooney could have been a really cool Bruce Wayne. Also, the tragedy of Mr. Freeze and his dying wife could have been really great, but instead, it’s glossed over like (dare I say it?) icing. Ugh. I hate myself for that.

Don’t even get me started on these movies. I love them. Yes, even the one where the dogs are talking! At the very end of Look Who’s Talking Now, when one of the dogs saves the day and Kirstie Alley shouts: “My dog is a genius!” is one of my all time favorite movie moments. People always say how John Travolta had his comeback in 1994 when Pulp Fiction came out. But Look Who’s Talking Now came out in 1993. He didn’t need a comeback!

I have three words for you: Supermodel Documentary Hour! This is my make-me-feel-better movie. It has helped me in many times of need. Bad test score? Superstar! Break up? Superstar! I don’t really feel guilty for liking it. I feel guilty for how awesome it makes me feel. It’s embarrassing.

What post about guilty pleasures would be complete without a mention of Showgirls? I prefer the VH1 version though where they paint on cartoon bras and panties (that’s right, I said panties!) on all the strippers to make it safe for television. It’s also great when they cut out key pieces of the plot (I know, what plot?) because they are unsafe for television, but then they reference those scenes in later scenes, and make absolutely no sense. I don’t own this on DVD, but if they sold the VH1 version, I’d be all over it.
What are your guilty pleasure movies?

9 to 5 is one of my all time favorites. I mean, who can’t love the phrase “sexist egotistical lying hypocritical bigot?” Seems to describe each and every one of my bosses!
Zoolander makes me laugh every time I watch it. I’m surprised it’s not on your list!! There’s a freaking walk off judged by David F-ing Bowie for God’s sake!
Super Troopers. Who wants a mustache ride???????

I wouldn’t forgive you either if you talked me into watching Catwoman. And I’d hate myself not so much for the comment but moreso for admitting you LIKED that batman movie.
Okay MY guilty pleasures?
- Rules Of Attraction (I thought it an awesome movie, although no one else does)
-The Super Friends on DVD
-Dude, Where’s My Car? (Ashton Kutcher and the obnoxious guy from Amercian Pie show off thier chests quite a bit and have a pretty hot kiss together)
-The Sound Of Music (I don’t own it, but anytime it’s on TV I HAVE to watch it)
- 1970’s disaster films (The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno, Earthquake)
Oh, the shame…
HUGS…

I don’t know why, but every time “Not Without My Daughter” is on TV, I need to watch it. It’s addictive.
“Clash of the Titans” and “Flash Gordon” are also bad movies that I love, but they are cult classics so I don’t know if they count as guilty pleasures.
“Two of a Kind” and “Date with an Angel”, I’m embarrassed to say, make me cry every time.

I can’t help but love ‘The American President’. I think this makes me worse than awful. ‘Boys on the Side’ always makes me weep like a child (Mary-Louise Parker rules) and who can resist a good old sing-along to Sister Act? I’m going to go and boil my head now.

Zoolander would probably have to be my guilty pleasure. It’s easily the worst movie that I can watch over and over again simply because Derek Zoolander and I have the same sized ego.
Also, I own Josie and the Pussycats on DVD. But thats only because I was (and probably still am) in love with Rachael Leigh Cook. I could care less about the film. I only bought it so I could look at her.
And then I guess I would say that Rachael Leigh Cook is my other guilty pleasure. She never comes off as being all that bright, or even all that talented. But she’s just so damn pretty that I adore the ground she walks on therefore have to watch whatever crappy film she’s in everytime it’s played on t.v.

Batman & Robin is the only Batman movie I like. ;D
Ummm, Spice World is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.
Along with the new Charlie’s Angels movies, Big Trouble in Little China, To Wong Foo…, Super Mario Brothers, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Legaly Blonde, Death to Smoochy, Sugar and Spice, Scooby Doo, The Brady Bunch Movie, and A Very Brady Sequel, and pretty much every SciFi Channel Original Movie ever made.

Titanic. Titanic. Titanic. I saw it 8x in the theater. Yep, that’s a 3 hour movie, so 24 hours of my life were spent in that movie. And of course I own the double tape VHS version!

How true, I love crap films. I know I shouldn’t, I get so much more from the ‘Il Postino’ foreign language films but given the choice its Batman and Robin every time. Why is that?

Look Who’s Talking Now (the third one with the dogs) was actually much better than Look Who’s Talking Too (the second one with Rosanne Barr as the voice of the baby daughter) but the secod one was just so bad that not a lot of people gave the third one a chance. The first one is by far the best though and they really just should’ve stopped there.

Oh yeah, and Batman Forever was by far the best Batman movie. Val Kilmer was the best Batman and Bruce Wayne in the series. Tommy Lee Jones was the only weak spot in the movie. I usually like Tommy Lee Jones but he was completely out of his element in this movie.

If you can own up to any Batman movie directed by Joel Schumacher, then I can own up to my ultimate guilty pleasure: Howard the Duck.
Seriously. I love this movie.

My guilty pleasure: The Rocky and Bullwinkle Movie. Yes, I’m hanging my head in shame as we speak.
Just wanted to let you know that I love your blog and gave you a spot on my blogroll over at http://www.writtenbycandlelight.blogspot.com
When are we going to get some more Backyard Action Craig videos?
