1. Michelle Pfeiffer was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday. For those of you counting at home, here are some people who received their stars before Ms. Pfeiffer: Ryan Seacrest, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Judge Judy, Wesley Snipes, Suzanne Somers, Britney Spears, David Spade, Paula Abdul, Godzilla, Pee-Wee Herman, Jay Leno, Chuck Norris, The Rugrats.
2. Speaking of Michelle Pfeiffer, I’m really excited about Stardust, which opens this weekend. It’s getting really good geek buzz, which is totally better than regular buzz. They’re saying it’s going to be the new Princess Bride. That’s a bold statement but I’m open to the idea.
3. If I were to purchase one version of Superman 2 on DVD, should I buy the Original or the Richard Donner Cut? Please advise.
4. Speaking of comic book movies from the 80’s, am I the only one that isn’t impressed by Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of the Joker? Everyone holds it up as the gold standard of comic book villainy. But I just see it as Jack Nicholson being Jack Nicholson. I’m interested to see what Health Ledger brings to the table.
5. I made a new banner for the top of Puntabulous. It was a picture of Scrabble letters saying “PUNTABULOUS”. But it came out really bad, and made me appreciate the banner I already have.
6. The third season of Alias isn’t nearly as bad as I was lead to believe. I’m quite enjoying it so far. I’m not missing Bradley Cooper or Merrin Dungey nearly as much as I thought I would. I am however missing Lena Olin. Sigh.
7. And finally, another awesome clip from Family Guy:

Why shouldn’t Suzanne Somers get her star first? She was making millions as Chrissy Snow before anyone had ever even heard of Michelle Pfieffer.
I don’t buy DVD’s with all the added bonus/deleted scenes/enhanced/directors cut crap. I buy the movie as the way I saw it. That’s enough for me.
Jack Nicholson, I thought, was a bit too old, and definitely too heavy to play the Joker. But I thought he did an admirable job. Heath, yeah, it’ll be nice to see what he brings to the role, but personally, I think Crispin Glover would have made an awesome Joker. Physically he fits the part, and he was surely creepy enough in the Charles Angels flicks.
HUGS…

Re: Superman 2.
How attached are you to the original version? The new stuff in the Donner cut is neat in a “Hmmm, it would have been interesting to see what this film would have been if he’d been allowed to finish it” kind of way. I see it superior in that it eliminates much of the sillier aspects of the original version (like WTF was that weird cellophane thing Superman threw at the villains??!?) but I don’t see it as a stronger or more coherent story. That said, I did buy it but I’m not convinced it was a good decision. The first movie will always be my fave. It’s nice to have as someone who enjoys the “what if” scenario.
Six of one, half dozen of the other. Netflix it, watch it, make the call.

Jack Nicholson is always Jack Nicholson. I am really, really tired of him. That elderly bad-boy thing is so tiresome.
Don’t change your banner—reminds me of a 40’s movie when someone says, Why, Miss Bannerman, you’re–beautiful!–without your glasses.

I am totally looking forward to what Ledger does with The Joker.

“Life’s a bitch, now so am I.”

The new Princess Bride…. surely you jest…..

Post-Lena Olin “Alias” wasn’t the same. As much as I love it, the show peaked in Season 2. I can accept that.
And how kickass was that Sidney/Fake-Francie smackdown in the Season 2 finale?!
“Francie doesn’t like coffee-flavored ice cream”
“No, she doesn’t.”
AWESOME!!

I was a bit dissappointed to see a rather unrecognizable version of Stardust based on the book but at Comic-con Neil said it was movie that had his fingerprints all over it, so there is hope for it yet I think.
I’m also hoping Heath Ledger will rule all ass in psycho-maniac mode.

Once, I played Scrabble but was drunk on wine so was playing badly. So I spelled cunt with my letters and proceeded to laugh loudly at myself. True story!

I really like your current banner, by the way.

Totally with you on number 4. Seems like Jack Nicholson gets the most mileage out of playing Jack Nicholson. LOL

LOVED Stardust, but that’s just me.

Go with the original Superman 2. The Richard Donner cut was kinda “meh.”
