LOST

I’ll keep it spoiler free here, but the comments are fair game.

I’m sure this review will make Brian F. happy (he hates when I’m down on Lost). Last night was easily the best episode of the season so far. It actually felt like a single story with answers and questions being resolved in the same hour. Kate’s flashes could have easily been dragged out over the season, but they were thankfully kept concise while still giving loads of information and teasing with some new questions. Yes, of course there are new questions, but I wasn’t nearly as frustrated watching last night as I have been.

    Dunh-dunh-DUUUUNH!

Yes, I am pleased you were pleased. I think my fave moment was the special breakfast Locke prepared for Miles. But the reveal at the end of this ep still can’t touch the Sayid/Ben reveal from last week.

I’m liking the new 16 episode format (well, 13 for this truncated season). They pare down the crap and get right to the meat of it.

Yeah, OMG on Aaron. But answers or no, I still felt like a used and abused cheap whore when that robot ran by. This is not a healthy relationship.

I totally saw the big reveal a mile away, which is an improvement for me because I usually never figure that stuff out.

The question I’ve had amongst the friends is this: We now know six people who have left the island: Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Ben, and now Aaron. Is this the Oceanic 6, or is Ben truly a red herring, who got off the island by other means? The person in the coffin has to be one of the 6 doesn’t it? Of course, that is obviously further down the flash forward timeline…

Also, is Clare alive back on the island or is she dead? I can see a scenario where Kate gets off the island and Clare runs up to the helicopter and says “Please save, Aaron”….who knows…

    My head hurts…

I agree with you. Usually with Lost every episode only gives us more and more questions but with this one they answered two of them: Who “he” was when cat was referring to “him” in the first Flashforward with Jack. Then it answered who’s Kate’s child’s father was. The whole episode led us to believe it was Sawyer then it was Jack, now we know its neither. It was a great spin and as you said it didn’t leave me completely frustrated. Usually the show is a constant mind fuck but last week and this week were good mind fucks :-p

    Fitness,
I don’t think Ben is one of the O6 because he wasn’t on the plane. And I’m think Aaron isn’t either because he was born on the island. So there are still 2 left to be revealed? And one is in the coffin? Who knows!!!

While the Sayid/Ben reveal at the end of last weeks episode was good…the way they led up to the Aaron reveal this week was amazing.

Clearly my favorite so far…I can’t wait to see what next week brings now!

Also, I’m very glad that in the end, Kate and Jack didn’t end up together. I’m all for the romance…but from the start, them as a couple just seemed too cliche for my tastes.

And honestly…Jack vs. Sawyer…like there is a contest there! haha Sawyer would win by a landslide…especially after him in his boxers last night! Rawr!

  8. Craig says:

I agree, but Sawyer’s hair is reaching girl lengths! What’s the deal? They’re practically living on Wysteria Lane! He can get a haircut now!

Personally, what intrigues me the most is the apparent time difference between the Island and the outside world. Remember when they had to write Walt and Michael out because of Walt becoming too old relative to the time they were supposed to have spent on the island? And now they’re saying he’s coming back. And how do they explain how old he is? Time outside the Island flows faster. At least that’s my theory. And do you think Sayid may have been working for Ben all along? And who’s the girl on the freigher? She sounds like Naomi, but isn’t she dead?

And was there a big cover up in the beginning? Someone seems to have faked the plain crash for the outside world.

    Oh and, yeah, OMG Aaron!!!

  10. Ben says:

Yeah, as soon as I saw Aaron, Kate, and Clare together at the barracks I KNEW that had to be the child Kate was referring to through the episode, so creepers.
