I do the same thing, minus the egg-painting part.

Hope you have a great (and hoppy) Easter.

There was a cartoon in MAD magazine. In the house, a mother was dying easter eggs. In the yard, a hen was dying the children.

Happy Easter! We dye them by remembering Saturday to buy white eggs and not the usual brown ones that live in our fridge, breaking some, cooking the rest (and breaking most of those as they boil because they probably cracked when we tossed them willy nilly in the pot), checking the internet to see how long they cook and getting distracted reading blogs, remembering that the eggs are cooking and after 45 minutes are probably, and giving the few wholeish ones to the boys to dye (along with the table and the floor). And that’s pretty much it, because no one will actually eat them, but everyone is happy.

    But the floor looks pretty!

    Happy Easter Craig!

So, you dye the eggs to make the color of the walls in your house? That IS a salmon colored wall behind you, eh? :)

    Happy Easter, Craiggers!

    Hiatus, Part II…

Yes, as the title of this post implies, I am going to take another hiatus from my blog effective immediately.
Why?  Well, I’ve been having quite a bit of internal debate recently as to whether or not to retire my blog.  I just haven&#82…

    Happy Easter, Craig!

Heather, for better hard boiled eggs, place a layer of eggs in a pan, cover with water, plus 2-3 inches. Place on stove, turn to high. After the water boils turn off heat and place lid on pan. Allow to “steep” for 20-30 minutes. Run cool water into pan, over eggs. Whilst still warmish, gently roll egg on hard surface to crack, and then peel;replace peeled egg in cooled water. Repeat as neccesssary. After all are peeled, then slice in half, remove hard boiled yolk and and mix in the acroutrements and stuff them. Basically, you’re busy for 15 minutes or so. The putting them in the water and taking them out; cracking the shells, making the stuffing and then stuffing them. And then refrigerate them for at least two hours. It’s really simple. And most of the time the yolks end up not having a greenish/bluish/teal/gray color; they also end up being more centerd and not off-sides. Hope it hepls.

Either that’s not your place or the indication of a high chair requires some explaining on your part…

Happy Easter, Craig. Mine was kinda weird.

    Cute. Happy belated Easter, Craiggers.

  14. Ξ_Heather on March 24, 2008 at 5:37 am

Thanks Dee! I’m guessing that if I wanted the shells on I’d just stop before cracking the eggs. [I had no idea about steeping in the warm water, though -- I just boiled the heck out of them all, and then came back ages later to find egg parts all over the place.]

Haha! A Super Viagra egg. Golden.

Dave S – The high chair is for the breeders of the family. I have young nieces and nephews. I’m even a godfather to some of them!

Good to see that you don’t need a glass with your beer Craig. After the ice in wine incident I wasn’t sure what to expect…

Went to see my daughter in MKE yesterday for Easter. She was sick and couldn’t make it to the family gathering, so we watched movies all day. She had her laptop and so to get her in the proper Easter mood I had her check out your Easter entries. She laughed, but she’s still in the “what the f***?” camp re Puntabulous (yes, the brat swears in front of her mother). I will convert her yet.

Sue- That reaction isn’t uncommon. Thanks for spreading the word! :-)

I thought my Hubs was the only Yuengling drinker. Nice choice!
