Blade Runner Video

So you guys know how I hate Blade Runner, right? And how lame and over-rated it is? Well here I am reenacting a pivotal scene from the movie:

Now here is the original:

Isn’t mine, like, so much better?

Oh Craig *sniff*…that was beautiful. So full of emotion and passion. Encore, encore!

You’re a dork. It’s funny how opinions differ. Cameron got me the four-disc collection and I fell in love with the film all over again. Still one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time.

Ooh, now do the Emperor’s speech to Luke in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

    I’m going to resist.

In his memoir, Lost in Music, Giles Smith (later an NME writer) talks about the day an older kid brought in the first copy of Dark Side of the Moon. All the younger kids gathered in his room and sat on the floor. He turned off the light and put the album on. Then, when the first side ended, he silently turned the album to the other side, and all of them just sat there in the dark until it ended. Trying for a few minutes to collectively meditate on what they had just experienced, one of the kids suddenly farted. And everyone laughed and none of them was able to take that album seriously ever again.

So this video could have been my fart-moment.

But no. I’m going to resist even though, in any case, my opinions will be lost in, like, time and shit.

Well, I agree that your version is better. I saw Blade Runner last fall and found it to be 2 hours of tedium.

However, from the ‘I watch too many movies’ department, those stripes of sunlight hitting the right side of your head gave the impression that you had Vanilla Ice’s hairstyle from “Cool as Ice”. But that’s a good thing.

I’ve thought it before, but this cements it. Craig, we may be soulmates.

I’ve actually never seen the film before so I’ll stay out of the debate on how good it is…
However, there is NO debating how funny Craig is!
    I love your re-enactments (like crocker)….

PS: only two pages so far???
    pathetic!
Until you write page 3 you are dead to me….

While I’ve not seen Blade Runner your reinactment is priceless. You are so cute, if my 21 yr old son were gay I’d be fixing you two up.

Like, WOW, Craiggers, I mean that was, like, so totally like the original! If, of course, Rutger Hauer was a skinny, pale, Irish gayboy with a high squeaky kinda voice. :)

The sunbeams in your hair were totally captivating though.

Oh, and just for future reference, they’re Replicants, not robots. Replicants.

    HUGS….

Craig, your version captures the spirit of that dated, melodramatic, and random movie (and a lot of bad sci-fi in general) entirely. I prefer the book by FAR — the movie totally doesn’t convey the twist on the detective genre that Dick presents.

but… your version didn’t have clips of harrison ford intermittently thrown in there. if you added those, i think you could be a contender.

To all you Blade Runner lovers: It’s not that it’s the WORST movie of all time (it kinda is) it’s just that it’s WAY over-rated. I just don’t appreciate the way it’s held up as the pinnacle of science fiction.

I’m glad everyone likes the video though! I’m also open to all marriage proposals and new bedspreads.

For a second, I thought you had shaved some “steps” into the side of your head! My thought was “whoa, so M.C. Hammer.”

So crazy to see you talk for real! The only other time I’ve seen you move was in your A-Team vids. But you didn’t speak.

Nice to meet the real Craig.

While your performance is immensely entertaining, Rutger edges you out by a smidge on the do-able scale.

I do like the movie, though I agree that it’s not the pinnacle of sci-fi films. That distinction of course belongs to E.T., because I always cry at the end.

It’s been a very long while since I saw Blade Runner, so feel a bit unqualified to judge. I do have vague recollections of my arse going numb through hours of tedium. However, weirdly your homage makes me feel the need to go catch it again. I really want to know if androids dream of electric sheep.
I understand your annoyance at it being considered one of the best sci-fi movies of all time, but I worry that my pretention gene may have grown over the years and I may now enjoy it :-s

You sure do say it a hell of a lot sexier.

Awe… Your spoof was actually rather adorable. It is so cute that you just can’t grasp the greatness that is Blade Runner. It is like a simple minded kitten playing with a ball of string because it does not know how to knit an argyle sweater. ;)

That final scene is my favorite from the movie. I had not seen it in years. In gratitude for linking to it I shall forgive your spoof. ;) It would have been even more powerful if the poster had included a few more minutes up front, to better set the context.

I tend to pay little attention to what products people place upon pedestals. I don’t confuse mass appeal for true value. Lemmings are always stampeding all over the place. I can’t change everything about the world, so I pick my battles.

Good luck with your marriage proposals and bedspreads. Perhaps a very patient bedspread (Blade Runner themed no doubt) will propose to you. ;)
