What? Is Val Kilmer in this film? I haven’t seen that anywhere…

I SLEEP NOW.

I must find an Amish terrarium…

Good call on Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. I love that movie and it was one of the reasons that when they cast Robert Downey, Jr., for Iron Man, I knew he’d be excellent in it.

The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra looks frickin’ brilliant! I absolutely *must* see it. I’m a huge fan of the schlocky 50’s sci-fi/horror fare and this looks like an awesome tongue-in-cheek rendition. Thanks, Craig, for pointing me toward it! I’m going to hunt it down this weekend.

Amazingly, I actually saw The Lost Skeleton years ago when I was working for Blockbuster, it’s definitely a fun goof. I believe the guy just finished directing a sequel to it; and had something else come out this year.

As for recommendations:

Camp; The Tune; 9 to 5; Better off Dead; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels…..and I’ll add

Heathers
Midnight Madness–great early 80’s film…Michael J. Fox’s first movie role!

If you liked “The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra,” you should check out “Amazon Women on the Moon.” It’s a send-up of both those 50s sci-fi flicks and the late night TV where you’ll typically find them.

Craig, never mind my older pick of the time machine thingy, but you have to check out “Noises Off”. It’s a fantastic film with Carol Burnett, Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, John Ritter, and many others.

Maybe one of these days you’ll finally watch one of my picks, so I’ll keep throwing them out there:

~Paper Moon
~The Grifters
~Heathers
~Strangers with Candy
~Triumph of the Spirit
~Logans Run

Yay!! I’m glad you liked Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. It does have Batman and Iron Man in it.
How about:

Shaolin Soccer or Kung Fu Hustle
Thank You For Smoking
Mr. Brooks
Night of the Comet - 80’s cheese
Looker - more 80’s cheese, but I love it!

Brian F: Yes!! Amazon Women on the Moon is a classic! Good call.

And I second Antonio’s suggestion of “Noises Off” — a great and usually underrated comedy.

srah said in May 8th, 2008 at 2:10 pm

I want to third Noises Off! I bought it last week because it had been sitting on my Amazon wishlist for a long time and I needed something relatively low-cost in order to get free shipping on another thing I was buying. So then when it arrived I rewatched it and it’s as funny as I remembered!

I’ll be the third one to suggest Noises Off. Great cast as well as funny.

And Craiggers, honestly, the more I think about it, the more I think Iron Man might have been better than Batman Begins.

HUGS….

Polt: You’re fourth in the “Noises Off” bandwagon. I’m not surprised that someone who questions “Batman Begins” wonderfulness doesn’t know how to count. Boo ya! :-)

I saw that years ago, it’s good fun.

If you want a bad film, track down Santa versus the Martions lol.

The Lost Skeleton reminded me of some of the old William Castle flicks, which I actually liked. I have the original 13 ghosts on DVD lol.

Too late, I own even own Lost Skeleton. In fact, I watch the dinner scene over and over again in my inverted cloth funnel. And since people are suggesting bad sci-fi movies, check out “The Queen of Outer Space” with Zsa Zsa Gabor. It has some of the funniest sexist dialogue evah.

“Lost Skeleton” is AWESOME!!!! SO glad you liked it! My bf and I OWN it, we like it so much. Plus, as a graphic designer, the stills gallery on the disc where they show off sample products done up in 50s styles? Pure design porn.
