Okay, I HATE cats, but I love ST, and these things are so funny, they just overcarm my cat hatred. Resistance is futile is hiLARious! thanks for the laugh, Craiggers.

BTW, was the Vulcan grip a death grip? I thought it just paralyzed the victim.

I’m not sure if it actually caused death, but that’s what it was called:

    Plus there’s this awesome pic:

You got me curious Mark and I found this:

In 2268, Spock used the so-called “Vulcan death grip” on Captain Kirk as a means to fool the Romulans into believing Kirk was dead, so as to bring him back on board the USS Enterprise without causing suspicion. Spock claimed that he had used the death grip instinctively in response to an unexpected assault from Kirk.

When informed of the incident, Nurse Christine Chapel exclaimed “But there’s no such thing as a Vulcan death grip.” Kirk replied that the Romulans did not know that.

I’ve also heard it called the Vulcan Nerve Pinch which sounds so less awsome than the “death grip”, even if an erroneous description.

Tam: I bow down in utter humility! Srsly, you’ve added to my Star Trek knowledge. Thanks.

Oops, Craig answered first, sorry cutie! You and Tam both deserve credit for my enlightenment.

Hmmm….using cats and misspellings to mock the famous Star Trek voiceover. I think you may be a Maquis in disguise.

Ahh, this makes me miss Star Trek (TNG, which was the only one I’ve seen most of). I like the Vulcan death grip one, even if the cat is totally faking it.

The Vulcan Nerve Pinch (aka the Vulcan Neck Pinch) was what Spock used regularly to KO his opponents (& it’s continued to be used by Vulcans in the various Trek series). The Vulcan Death Grip was just something Spock & made up to fool the Romulans (though it has appeared “for real” in one of Peter David’s Trek Spin-off novels)
