Fringe

So Fringe was pretty awesome tonight, right? I think the cast all seemed pretty good and likable. Good to have you back Josh! Loved the freaky opening scene. It’s amazing what they can do on television these days. And the mystery seems really intriguing also. The line “Question him.” at the end was ridiculously awesome. Thoughts?

oh my gosh when they were on the plane at the beginning and that guy’s cheek ripped open and his tongue was flopping… yuck. But awesome.

    i also quite enjoyed it.

however, agent dunham reminds me of a grown-up serena van der woodsen. it was very distracting. good thing she wasn’t wearing schoolgirl plaid, or i would have been completely lost.

It had some very cool moments and nice effects, but I was bored for most of it. Joshua Jackson is not an old grizzled tough guy, and every time he acts like one, it’s laughable.

I’ll give them another episode or two to really intrigue me before I give up on it.

Avitable: Agreed. I wasn’t buying that whole “sweetheart” business. Joshua Jackson is no Han Solo. But I enjoyed it.

Cam and I really enjoyed it. I liked all the big, giant location labels that no one seemed to run into coz they were totally there! I really enjoyed John Noble’s performance as Dr. Walter Bishop. Even if I did scream, “It’s **** on the tape coz they have to get rid of him somehow!” Stupid predictable stuff.

Holy crap! I just found out that John Noble was Denethor! THAT’S where I remember him.

Howard: Should I be ashamed to admit that I was shocked by that? I’ve always admitted to being a bit slow. But I did keep wondering how they were gonna get rid of him.

I loved the location labels too. Brought back my fond memories of Alias.

I didn’t recognize him as Denethor either. That’s really cool!

Okay, for those who missed the boat like me but are suddenly curious about the hype, you can watch it on-line here. http://www.sidereel.com/Fringe You have to register but I’ve been trying to catch up on Torchwood at the site as well. I’ll watch Fringe tomorrow.

I thought it was a nice change of pace, but I did find myself paying more attention to my computer than the tv at times. Aaand I’m not really looking forward to a future romance between the two main characters since it was totally hinted at. I don’t know why, but I’d rather they not get involved. But of course…they will. *hangs head*

Looooooveeeddd it! It was so cool! And they’re not gonna get involved any more than Mulder and Scully. Which means in the 9th season or whatever.

I watched about half of it before deciding that I wasn’t going to let it use up my TV time. I can suspend my disbelief about crazily wrong science since the show is called Fringe. What I couldn’t tolerate was how the FBI, institutions for the criminally insane, and universities did work the way they do in real life.

I don’t know…. I was entertained, but the characters were SO 2 dimensional… the acting kind of sucked too… we’ll see how it goes going into episode 2…
