And please no snarky comments from the peanut gallery who say Heroes was never great. Tonight’s episode was awesome! Hiro and Ando back together! And making comic book references! Eeeeevil Sylar! Veronica and Weevil! Lots of people using lots of powers! Mohinder and Maya! Okay, so maybe not everything was great. But if you put the two crappiest characters together, it cuts the amount of their crappy scenes in half. Great! Let’s hope it keeps up!

Aah. I need to catch up. I’m still on the episode called Homecoming I think.
I totally agree! It was awesome! I still want to know what Momma Petrelli’s power is, I have suspicion, but it hasn’t been proven yet. And can we trust her reveal at the end of the second episode?
Mohinder, poor Mohinder, he does try, but he is a total snoozefest. How funny was “I told you not to open the safe.”?
Loved it!
john: Yeah, not quite sure if we should believe her yet, but I can totally see it being true. Sadly giving Mohinder powers won’t make him more interesting. Though I have to admit his bathroom scene at the end was creepy/cool.
Also, the new development with Claire puts an interesting spin on her character. I’m interested to see where that goes.
Confession: Never seen it, nothing to add. Glad you enjoyed it. I will watch Fringe tonight though, swear.
I haven’t seen an episode after like the first three last season. They moved it to Monday night’s opposite football, and frankly, the ones I did see last season were not at all interesting, so I just watched football. Same is true this season.
Put the show back on Wednesday nights and I’ll be all over it. Like I wish I could be all over Peter.
HUGS…
Football? Seriously? Don’t judge Heroes by the first half of last season. That would be a terrible mistake. And Heroes was always on Mondays.
I think Mohinder is very easy on the eyes. I’m tempted to mute his scenes though, only inconsequential blablabla. Maya should fall into a deep coma or serve as snack for my favorite character Sylar. Was it just wishful thinking or were there some gay overtones between Sylar and Mohinder last season?
I thought it was alright, but there were still leaps and bounds of improvement compared to last season. My only problem was that some things seemed so forced and coincidental at times (Sylar randomly finding Claire, the adrenal glands thing, Mama Petrelli possibly maybe no really might have powers, etc.). I did like Nikki’s new personality in the Emma Frost type garb though and am looking forward to see the explanation for Future Ando :p
Yes, Mohinder is easy on the eyes but zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Tracy/Nikki was definitely an improvement for her character. Hopefully they keep Micah out of it, and make her a more interesting character.
Claire running around the house and locking herself in the closet was silly. Sylar couldn’t break through? Seriously?
Mama Petrelli is awesome. Are her powers being able to see the future? What was with that moment when she saw all the dead heroes, then all the evil looking villains?
I must say that I like Mohinder. I love his voice and accent and have found him a nice balance to the other characters which smooooths out the storyline…anybody want to join me?
Was it always on Mondays??? Then it’s first season must have started in the spring, becuase I don’t remember it being a conflict with football then.
And yes, football, seriously.
And I do agree, Mohinder is VERY easy on the eyes. Gay overtones between him and Sylar would probably be enough to bring me back over football.
HUGS…
First episode was way too dark, second was amazing. I still hate Maya, she needs to be killed off asap. Liking the flashesque chick, love the idea of villains running amok, was so over Nathan until the ice came out, than I was like, ok, I’ll be loving this.
All and all, much better than the abysmal last season.
I never had a doubt that Mama Petrelli had/has powers. I’m leaning toward the persuasion power. She seems to be able to influence people to do what she wants, albeit subtly.
What’s Malcolm McDowell doing inside Adrian Pasdar? Also, I totally get the Peter Petrelli thing, he is a good looking guy (now that he has a haircut), but what is with the Billy Idol lip?
Claire hiding in the closet was stoopid. But love the new Nikki/Tracy.
So..I’m just getting reaquainted with following your every move..but…why no mention of your Mom on Dancing with the Stars?
Or..have we moved on from that? Just trying to catch up!
I notice Natalie Portman is gone too..that’s ok, she was kind of a bitch.
Pip: Yeah, things have changed a bit since you’ve last been around. Natalie Portman, my wfe, took a back seat, and therefore so did my fake parents Cloris Leachman and Bea Arthur. They may come around again though.
As for Dancing with the Stars, my Mondays are just too dang busy to take on that show. I’ve got Heroes, Gossip Girl, Sarah Connor, and soon Chuck! It’s hectic!
Hmm, are me and Craig the only ones who heard that Mama Patrelli TOLD us what her powers were? She said she can dream the future and then they even showed her having a prophetic dream in her car.
As much as I like Heroes, this season already feels like TOO much. Everyone is a “mutant” now. its totally crazy. This is just like the Mortal Kombat movies where the first one was decent and they decided to make the 2nd one with more technical martial arts and powers and it was crap. They’re going to have to do a mutant reboot like in Marvel’s House of M where they de-power A LOT of people so that its “special” again.
Did anyone else see the obvious “homage” to The Fly in Mohinder’s scene where he’s hanging from the ceiling? That was almost a direct rip of the scene with Jeff Goldblume and Geena Davis. I actually like Mohinder but it looks like he’s suffering from Milo Syndrome.. ie he got buff over the break and now wants to take his shirt off for every episode.
Not watching but enjoying all the frenzy it inspires here.
GoKitty: I did miss that. Well, I heard it, but I didn’t think that she was saying that was her power. I’ll have to watch it again.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind if Mohinder and Peter and Nikki’s husband, whatver his name is, were shirtless in every episode, ALL the time.
That would certainly make me come back to Heroes.
HUGS…
Polt, you thought DL was hot?! Maybe it’s just because I hated that whole family, but DL had a major case of gay face that I just couldn’t get passed.
Me? Not liking people with gay face? Oh, I went there.
what the hell is gay face?
When someone has the face of a gay.
richard simmons? my cousin? Joe Torre? I am so confused….
Prime example of gay face: CLICK HERE
aaaaah! now I understand, my cousin!
Ewwww. Maybe keeping them shirtless distracts from the gay face.
“The skin is usually pale and splotchy” – that’s from the link you provided for a definition of gay face. I don’t think DL’s face was either.
DL…think maybe that stands for DownLow? Hmmm….
And frankly, I don’t really care if they got a gay face or not, cause when they’re on their knees in front of me, or on their hands and knees facing away from me, I can’t see that face anyway.
HUGS….
Polt: Dang.
Polt, please tell me that you have already had a 40 ouncer today and are ready to call some of your friends with benefits because if that isn’t the case, then you must be far into a dry spell and we would hate to hear that…
I took this show off my DVR last night. I’ll watch it online when I want to be bored. I’ve stuck with the show and still will. It just will be viewed online.
I will say that the second hour of the show was great and loved The Speedster. That’s going to be fun to see. But Maya is still around and shouldn’t be. Mohinder needs to never speak again and go back to India and take her with him. The whole scar/no-scar Peter Petrelli thing is stupid and needs to be resolved. And stop introducing new characters. There are too many now.
Anyway, Gossip Girl, Chuck are going to be my two 8 o’clock shows I tape. I’ll watch HIMYM/BigBang online as well. When did Monday get so crowded???
Oh, and Gossip Girl was freakin amazing last night. “From now on, everything goes through me.” hehehe
anyone know the brand of the black bag Chuck was carrying at one point?
Burner: Gossip Girl was INCREDIBLE last night! Everyone was on fire!
GoKitty: I’m not sure. Sorry!
What? WHAT? What I said surprises you? After all the comments I’ve left before THIS is the one that surprises you?
HUGS…
The first hour was actually good if you ignored the plot holes the size of a Hummer – but that’s always been a strength for Heroes. Somehow it managed to be hugely entertaining even though nothing in the first season made sense when you looked at it with a critical eye.
I will not speak of the second season.
But seriously – what was up with the second hour? Why did they do nothing but rip off David Cronenberg’s The Fly and treat it like they had invented it? There is homage and then there is uninspired plagiarism.
The worst offense was having Greg Grunberg in the desert looking terrible. This guy is huggable, adorable, and totally woof-material. Yet he gets underused and abused.
They had a highly entertaining first season and a terrible second season. What the real problem with the show is that it has had terrible writing, but great execution and occasional rises to the moment from it’s cast. But in the end, it’s still a second rate comic book with all the terrible cliches that we find familiar and comfortable, but soon realize it’s why we loved the Dark Knight so much this summer – it really is time for something with substance over style.
I still root for the Cheerleader though – she’s the only reason I will still watch the show. And maybe Greg Grunberg if he can manage to clean himself up a bit and do a shower scene.
Great point about Mohinder and Maya. Way to put a positive spin on it. Their scenes mostly just gross me out.
