I spent the weekend at my Aunt’s beach house and all you got was this lousy post.

How was it, you ask? Very nice. The Amber Spyglass is coming along quite nicely. Oh, you mean leaving the house? Being out in nature? Sunlight? The cool breeze coming off the Long Island Sound? Yes, yes, that was lovely also.

How nice is that? Looks awesomely relaxing.

    Oh, and you suck.

(I stayed home all weekend with a nasty cold.)

I’m jealous. I have to get me an aunt with a beach house. Looks amazing. Glad you had a nice relaxing weekend.

what? no gin and tonics in the pictures?

  4. Craig on September 22, 2008 at 7:48 am

No. No gin and tonics. It was all about the cans of Coors Light. I’ve been kinda into drinking beer out of cans lately. It’s good trashy fun.

  5. Dave S. on September 22, 2008 at 7:57 am

The best trashy can: 16 oz. PBR. Seriously. Try it. And wear a wifebeater.

And if possible, stand in front of a trailer home. Painted aquamarine.

    Heaven. Heaven, I tell you.

So are you going to host a bloggers party there? It looks beautiful.

  7. BOSSY on September 22, 2008 at 9:03 am

Relaxing. Bossy has heard about such things, but she’s pretty sure it’s all propaganda.

pix 1, 4, 7 look as if you had Vagina Girl for company. Did the 2 of you comiserate about the problems of seducing gay men?

  9. Polt on September 22, 2008 at 9:57 am

PBR, Dave S.? No, my friend, for good, wholesome, redneck, trashy fun, one MUST be sipping from a can of Iron City Beer. Thirteen dollars a case, last time I checked.

It don’t get any better than that.

    HIUGS…

Oooo. Iron City. Forgot about that stuff. Touche, Polt. Touche…

Looks like an absolutely beautiful place to unplug and spend the weekend!

Man, I was feeling so serene–but then you had to come up with the white socks. I hate white socks!

  14. Mary Beth on September 22, 2008 at 12:49 pm

Really? Is there any better way to spend a weekend?

  15. Kimi on September 22, 2008 at 1:05 pm

Looks so nice and cold! You look snuggly in your sweatshirt and PJ pants. Here in Florida we’re still running around in shorts and sweating our nuts off (well, the men are….I’m not sure what I’m sweating off, definitely not the pounds).

  16. Craig on September 22, 2008 at 1:13 pm

Bernd: The Vagina Girl will be with me…always.

Alice: I’ve alread cried a bunch of times. It’s so good!

People in the Sun: And waste my cute argyle ones for just laying around? Never!

  17. Chris on September 22, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Beautiful. The scenery looks nice as well. ;)

I love it when a book makes you care enough for the characters and situations that it makes you cry when bad (or good!) things happen. What a very human phenomenon that mere ink on a page can create a very real emotional connection.

That last book I cried while reading was The Green Mile.

  19. Tam on September 22, 2008 at 6:08 pm

I’m one of those saps who cries fairly regularly while reading.

Good book, comfy couch, pajama pants (I hope those are pajama pants)…my idea of heaven! All you need is some rainy weather (I would feel guilty about not spending all my time outdoors : ).

  21. Ξ_Heather on September 22, 2008 at 8:24 pm

Sounds wonderful! Lounging and reading is the best. And a fire in the fireplace is a close second to a fabulous beach view, for when you’ re not near the shore….

  22. Ryan on September 22, 2008 at 11:14 pm

Ha! I’ve never met you, but I had a super dirty dream about you the other night! I thought i might as well tell you.

Oh- and you were very sweet :)

  23. Craig on September 22, 2008 at 11:29 pm

Ryan: Oh my! Sounds scandalous! How was I? ;-)

This post is like a Shirley MacLaine movie come to life. I don’t know why it makes me think of her, but it does.

  25. AdamX on September 24, 2008 at 8:14 pm

    You are looking good. :-)
