Oh Pushing Daisies! How I adore you!

Words cannot express how happy I am now that Pushing Daisies is back on. It is by far my favorite show, possibly rivaling my adoration of Battlestar Galactica. I know, crazy right? But true. I hate to use a pie comparison, but watching this show is like eating a warm slice of delicious pie. It’s just so sweet and magical and romantic. Lee Pace makes me think that maybe it’s not all that bad being tall and lanky. And oh my, did you see him in his boxers? Golly me. And Kristin Chenoweth continues to be absolutely genius as Olive Snook, and with better hair this season! And let’s not forget Emerson’s “I’m sorry for your loss… and I do accept credit cards.” Genius! And did you know Anna Friel who plays Chuck is really British? Did anyone else forget about Aunt Lily’s secret from last season? I did, so it was quite a shock to hear it during the recap. But I love how Olive has all these secrets now and her scenes in the pie shop and convent were fantastic. Glad to have you back Pushing Daisies!

Thank you. I love this show. It’s the best show on TV. I had forgot about the Aunts secret as well. I loved how Ollie wanted to know if she should show the poor to her room so they could put her stuff in there.

  2. Polt says:

Yet another show you’ve posted about I’ve not seen. hmmm, have I mentioned Torchwood is pretty good? :)

    HUGS…

  3. Nicky says:

FORGOT THE SECRET?! haha. I remembered all summer long.

    Wasn’t it great?!
And the boxer scene was cool because he was in his boxers, but it was also just an AWESOME scene in general. It was SO amazing when she poured the bees on him and they sprang to life. This show is the most visually pleasing show of all time.

  4. Chris says:

I can’t comment on the show as I have not seen it. I just wanted to compliment you on all the nice post banners you have been using recently. They look cool and artsy. ;)

  5. Evolving says:

WAHHHHHHHHHH! I can’t get this in France! I can’t even watch it on the internet!! It makes me SOOOO SAD. I NEED someone to pirate this off the internet for me. I will be fine to be five episodes behind, as long as I get to watch it. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!

  6. The Infamous Dr. Para says:

Yeah. Pushing was my favorite show last season and from last night’s episode, I can tell the trend will easily continue and to be cliche, that’s hot.

  7. Craig says:

Loved the poor scene at the convent and Olive confessing that she was going to file a police report. So funny.

Chris, glad you like the new post banners. Just something new I’m trying out to spruce up the place a bit.

  8. Dave S. says:

Is season 1 out on DVD? I saw one episode last season and was impressed, but never did catch up with it after that.

I mean, damn, if Craig says it rivals his love of Battlestar Galactica, I might need to check this out…

  9. Tam says:

Evolving: Watch it here http://www.sidereel.com/Pushing_Daisies Sometimes you have to try a few links to find one that work properly and doesn’t take forever to load. Some of the shows have Japanese/Chinese (?)subtitles but I watched an episode of Torchwood last night that had French subtitles. :-)

Polt: I’ve never seen this show either. Oh well. We can’t all be the cool kids like Craig.

  10. polt says:

Yes, but Tam we CAN be the nonconformist Goth kids over in the corner, all dressing alike and listening to the same music and talking about the same tv shows, that we know are cool, even if the kids at the ‘cool’ table don’t get them. Oh, how angst filled we’ll be. oh, woe is us. I have to put some black nailpolish on and write some really horribly self-centered poetry now. :)

    HUGS….

  11. Tam says:

Polt: Okay, I’m letting my bangs grow out so they can cover my eyes Polt and we can talk about how cute Ianto is and how we’ll never find a real guy that great. Sound like fun?

  12. polt says:

Tam…that DOES sound great. It also sounds a lot like our running comments here over the last few days as well. Minus to angst.

    HUGS…

  13. GoKitty says:

I hate Chuck! I wish she would die for reals. I just find her so annoying.

Okay, i’m an elitist. I liked it when NO ONE watched this show and it was called Dead Like Me.

  14. Howard says:

I’ve had several people at this point tell me I should watch it. I may have to put it in the recording queue.

  15. Craig says:

I’ve never seen Dead Like Me. I’m gonna have to Netflix it eventually along with Wonderfalls.

  16. Nicky says:

Craig! You never saw Wonderfalls?! You would love it. Watch right away. Add it as my netflix recommendation!

And Pushing Daisies is available on DVD and it’s mad cheap!!

I loved Pushing Daisies last night. In HD! It looked great and really nice to see everyone back. If you have never seen if, go check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJr8hYadMjE . Don’t let a good show disappear!

  18. Dave S. says:

Nicky: Wow. $20 for the first season DVD makes it even more intriguing!

  19. Sven says:

Is it wrong that I have already made James promise we can call our first dogs Digby and Ned?

  20. Nicky says:

No Sven, that’s amazing. I like Ned more though, since it’s more human sounding (I have a hamster named Richard Parker).

And Dave S., $20 is so cheap for a TV series on DVD so you need to buy it right away.

  21. David from Brazil says:

Oooh, Ooh, Dead like me is so good. It’s very dark humor, very bittersweet. You rlly need to rent it on DVD one day Craig. I loved it.

  22. Brian F. says:

Rumor has it that the ratings weren’t very good last night. It’s never too soon to start a SAVE PUSHING DAISIES campaign. Start plugging the show, Craiggers. If anyone can drump up an audience, it’s you!

  23. RcktMan says:

I loooove Pushing Daisies!!! And Lee Pace is my new lover. Seriously. I have him right here and after I’m done we’re going to go and make sweet mad love in my bedroom. *swoon!*

  24. RcktMan says:

And really, if you want to help PD and you haven’t seen it… go to http://www.abc.com and watch it THERE - not on YouTube or anywhere else. At least if ABC records the hits, they’ll know people care about this great show!!

BTW you can watch it in HD on ABC.com. Just sayin’.

  25. GoKitty says:

Posting in a dead thread but I didnt know where else to add something I noticed since I barely got around to watching the season premier.

Anyone else hear Ned say he got his temp job thru Happy Time agency? Is that not the agency George works for in Dead Like Me?

  26. Craig says:

GoKitty: I never watched Dead Like Me (though I will at some point) I just looked it up, and yes it is. I also heard that they plan on introducing some characters from Wonder Falls (another show I need to watch) into Pushing Daisies, so I think Brian Fuller is setting up a lot of crossover potential with all three of his shows. Sounds fun!
