Chuck: Geeky Spy Extraordinaire

Did anyone else watch Chuck last night? Because it was awesome. Chuck was one of my favorite shows from last season (behind Pushing Daisies) and I was sad to be underwhelmed by the season premiere last week. But this week’s episode more than made up for it. Sarah’s entrance into Buy More was a perfect example of the silliness I love about the show. And John Larroquette was perfect as a washed up James Bondian (totally a word) super seductive spy. I hope they have him back again. I was worried that they’d add too many guest stars this season since we’ve already had Michael Clarke Duncan, Melinda Clarke, and John Larroquette and we’re only on episode 2. But they’ve all been great and still manage to blend in with the rest of the cast without coming off as casting stunts a la Will and Grace. If you’ve never seen it, please watch it sometime, because let’s face it, if you’re reading this blog, you’re probably a geek, and a member of Chuck’s target audience.

    HEY! I resemble that remark!

    But, I don’t watch Chuck.

  2. Nicky says:

Will and Grace guest appearances?! Are you talking about Britney Spears again? (”Womanizer” on iTunes TODAY!)

  3. David from Brazil says:

I watched an episode but failed to get interested. The humor just flew right by me and splattered on the wall. Messy. :)

  4. Michelle M. says:

I was watching Heroes and Terminator. I did just get sucked into watching House, though.

Dammit Nicky, I just got that song out of my head.

  5. john says:

Nicky: I tried, I really did, but I couldn’t make it through the whole song. I’ll refrain from further comment.

Michele M.: I was watching Heroes too. Is it me or is Milo Vegemitesandwich a bad actor?

  6. JW says:

John Larroquette was also on Boston Legal at 10:00 last night! He is a tall silver fox that makes me have naughty desires…

  7. Craig says:

I still haven’t heard the new Britney song. But I’ll download it when I get home. Polt will be so proud.

Heroes was good last night but a tad on the confusing side. So much was going on and I fear that it’s losing focus. Loved Sylar though. But I’m so over Parkman and his stupid turtle.

Oh, and Milo acts? I didn’t realize that. I must have been focusing on his shirtlessness.

  8. Michelle M. says:

Nicky: The video premieres Friday on 20/20.
john: I just said that to my husband last night when he was “acting” opposite himself!!! Stop doing that - it’s weird!!!! And what is with his mouth? It looks like he had a stroke.

Craig - Beware… That song will give you an earworm that will burrow so deep into your brain you may never get it out.

  9. Craig says:

The scenes where Milo was talking to himself were painful. It was so obvious he was saying the lines one at a time rather than having an actual conversation.

  10. Polt says:

Okay, once more at work, Puntabulous was blocked because of “Adult” content. Christ, i can get to ANY page on my Palace, but I can’t get to Puntabulous!!??!?! Stupid content blocker….

Second, once more, I have never seen Chuck. While I suppose I am in it’s target audience, I’ve just never watched it. Never really appealed to. Torchwood, however, just rocks! :)

I have never heard Womanizer either…and yet I’m managed to live a happy, enjoyable life. Go figure.

Downloading, are you Craiggers? Proud….yeah, that’s just what I am…. But I do have to agree about Milo’s Venticafemocha’s acting…or lack there of. Who cares, really, as long as he’s shirtless! :)

    HUGS…

  11. Bernd says:

I enjoy Chuck, but the love-story-that-just-doesn’t-go-anywhere got old half-way through season 1. At least Brice is back now and they can sort out the lingering attractions they felt for each other in College.

  12. Tam says:

Ummm, I saw about 45 seconds of it where he was whining he didn’t like the adrenalin rush and the blonde chick was trying to tell him otherwise. But I’m afraid that’s it. I flicked on by.

I’ve never heard Britney’s song and never seen Milo act, have seen him shirtless in pictures though. Lordy, I’m so out of the pop culture loop it would appear. Thank god for this blog or I’d know nothing about anything cool.

  13. Burner says:

I took Chuck off my DVR last week because it interfered with Gossip Girl…and that show takes precedence. lol

I’ll have to watch it online.

I stopped watching Heroes though. This back and forth thing they keep doing with present and future flashes works well on Lost, but not on Heroes because the future can be changed too easily.

I can always catch the episodes online, but only if I’m really bored will I do so.

Has anyone watched True Blood? OMG-gasm!

  14. Nicky says:

Michelle - yeah, I know (of course). Have you seen the three stills from the video?! She looks amazing. I can’t wait.

Craig - You will download?! I love you forever for that. Good job.

  15. john says:

Michelle M.: THANK YOU! What is with the mouth? Is he trying to be Rocky or Billy Idol?!? (I don’t think he can actually help it.).

Tam: Don’t feel bad, none of us have seen Milo act either. I will admit though, the boy is in good shape. Now if Hayden Pantscomeoffplease were shirtless too, then there would be reason for everyone to watch it.

Craig: Sylar was AWESOME! I was impressed to see him act and can’t wait to see him as Spock. I’m less confused by the current plot as I am annoyed. I totally agree about the turtle, yeesh we get it, move on. The story line is very Days of Future Past (Polt: don’t leave me haning…) and while that was good, this is getting a little old.

  16. Polt says:

Well, john, as I haven’t been watching Heroes, I’m not what I can do for you..but I can state the Days Of Future Past is one the best X-Men storylines ever. Great Byrne artwork, first appearance of Rachel/Phoenix (one of my favorite characters) and the death of Wolverine, which I so loved.

there, how’s that for ya? :)

    HUGS…

  17. Michelle M. says:

Nicky - She does look good in the stills. Those hair/makeup/wardrobe people are damn good - she should chain them up in her basement.

john: What’s up with all the nicknames today? And Sylar+waffles= comedy gold.

Anyone remember (or watch) Greg Grunberg in Felicity? Smoothaise!

  18. john says:

Michelle M.: I can’t spell either of their last names and was too lazy to look them up. Plus Vegemitesadwich make me (and probably only me) laugh. Pantscomeoffplease is simply a fantasy.

Sylar + waffles totally = comedy gold! I loved that bit.

Polt: FOR THE WIN! Excellent! I love that story line (X-Men 141 + 142 for the unfamiliar). Not only the first appearance of Rachel, but an aged Franklin Richards as her husband. Fantastic stuff. The Byrne art was great, the covers were beautiful, especially 141.

  19. Amy @ Milk Breath & Margaritas says:

I saw John Larroquette in a Starbucks in Venice Beach, sitting alone by the window. I loved Night Court, and Blind Date was hilarious. He’s good on Boston Legal too.

Then my table was next to Keifer Sutherland’s table at Spago in Bev Hills that same week, but I’ve never seen 24 and memories of Flatliners wasn’t enough to get me excited about that.

Tell Me What a Dork I Am!
