Come on, we all have them. The news anchor we tune in for. The news anchor that makes us not mind watching the news. The news anchor that can tell us that the world is about to implode in upon itself, and we’d just sigh and says that’s okay. Why? Because we’re hardly even paying attention to what they’re saying because we’re so blinded by our undying love and devotion. Who is mine you ask? No, not Anderson Cooper. That answer is so cliche! Mine is MSNBC news anchor Dan Kloeffler. I wake up every morning at 4:30 for work, and the only thing that makes it bearable is waking up to Early Today, the short half-hour news program that’s on before Today in New York on NBC, hosted by either (also adorable!) Christina Brown or Dan Kloeffler. It’s either one or the other, never both at the same time, and I haven’t quite figured out a pattern just yet. Perhaps it’s just whoever could get themselves out of bed at the ungodly hour required to be hosting a news program by 4:30? Anyway, Christina is great, but I cherish the days I can wake up next to Dan Kloeffler giving me my morning news. He’s just so handsome! So what do you say? Who is your news anchor crush? They can be from a major news network, or just your local station, but if you tell me you don’t have one, I’ll know you’re either lying or uninformed. UPDATE: I forgot about this post they did on Gawker where they freeze-framed video to get a bunch of reporters’ best “o-face”. They’re hysterical! Maybe your news anchor crush will be in the bunch! CHECK IT OUT!

Well, I’m Canadian and we obssess over the weather. The Weather Network is one of the most watched TV statons in Canada, soooooo….. I don’t have a news anchor that I watc but I love Chris St. Claire, the weather guy on the Weather Network. Its not that he’s devestatingly handsome, but he’s funny and friendly and I believe him when he tells me it will rain. http://www.theweathernetwork.com/common/images/tv/en/chris_st_clair.jpg There don’t seem to be many pics of Chris out there but I can listen to him ramble on about cold fronts and storm surges for hours.

Keith OIbermann. Not the most physically attractive of the newspeople out there, although he’s not ugly by ANY stretch, but he’s the only person I know who’s conversation can get me aroused. Intelligent, funny, sacrastic when needed…*SIGH*…..

I’m kinda partial to the tall, dark and handsome type, so I’m going with David Gregory from NBC/MSNBC. But if you want to talk about same-sex news anchor crushes, it’s Rachel Maddow on MSNBC for me.

I never watch TV-news, I read the newspaper and browse CNN and a German magazine online at work. I SO don’t need to know, what they think I NEED TO KNOW. So no crush on news-anchors, crushing isn’t it?

I don’t have one currently (and that O face thing made me realize there are a lot of pretty girl anchors, not so much for men).
But from 4th grade to high school I woke up early and watched NBC news with my mom and I always thought Matt Lauer was pretty cute.

I watch almost all CNN and MSNBC’s primetime shows, Keith OIbermann being my favorite. I don’t really have a crush on him or any of the newspeople though. The closest would probably be Jon Stewart of the Daily show if he counts.

Tam: Neither really. I wear a t-shirt and jeans every day of the year (hoodie if it’s colder) so I don’t focus on weather too much. haha.
Unless it’s really hot, in which case I stay inside and cry and pray for snow to fall.

Haha aw what’s wrong with liking sean hannity? not that I do or anything but I’m sure he’s a better pick than Keith Olberman. Don’t really know anchors too much though since I do most of my news through online articles that way I can read what’s intersting haha.

On a national level, definitely David Gregory. He is one tall drink of water. On a local level, I love my weatherman Steve Jerve. I know he’s not an anchor, so I don’t know if he counts, but he’s definitely my favorite part of the evening news. The pic in the link makes him look a little Anthony Michael Hall-ish, but he’s much cuter in motion. He’s also super tall. I love the tall men! (probably since I’m 5′11″ myself) I’ve been trying to figure out if he’s gay ever since I’ve been watching (not that there’s anything wrong with that), and I still can’t figure it out. He’s very well-dressed, but then again, he is on TV. I’ve never heard any mention of a personal life or wife on air. I even tried to google and wiki the answer and still can’t figure it out, only rumors here and there. Maybe you can all go look at the pic and give me your opinion, because inquiring minds want to know!

RON CORNING!!!! he’s on World News Now on ABC at the buttcrack of dawn. Hunk-a-thon. And his co-anchor used to be Gigi Stone. So, it was World News Now with Corning-Stone (just like Christina Applegate’s character on Anchorman Veronica Corningstone)

I’m not so sure having Tom Brokaw as your news anchor crush is such a good idea. I mean, if you ever have the chance to have sex with him, he’ll demand it be finished in 90 seconds, and yell at you if you go over. It’ll ruin the whole fantasy.

Mary Jedlicka!!! Reporter from our local ABC affiliate. I know she’s not an anchor, but she’s *so* so hot. And her voice is to die for.
Okay, so true story: I was the geek/idiot that was first in line at the AT&T store to get my iPhone 3G. Waited there for 13 hours. Hey, I wasn’t going to take any chances and miss out on a white one. (don’t judge me!)
So come morning, all the news stations were there to film the spectacle and guess who walks up to me to interview me live on the air? Mary!!! Seriously! Best morning of my life. An iPhone 3G *and* Mary Jedlicka!! She’s just as gorgeous in real life. Awesome legs on that there reporter. She even asked if she could follow me in the store and interview me there for another live spot! *Then* she talked to me afterwards to thank me for being such a good sport! 
I’m, like, “Hey I think you’re the greatest. I watch you every morning!”
Then she said, “Hey, you’re kinda cute. Wanna go out for lunch when I get off?” And I’m like, “Sure!” And she’s like, “Great!” And I’m like, “Do you want to get married afterwards?” And she’s like, “Hey, I’ve been wondering when you’d ask!” And I’m all, “Cool! Call my new iPhone!” And we lived happily ever after!
Well, okay, that last part didn’t happen…

I don’t watch TV news, I read my news on the internet. While I never had a “crush” on him, I used to enjoy watching Tom Snyder when he was on the The Late Late Show. He seemed like a smart classy guy. I liked many of the interviews he conducted.

I totally agree with you regarding that sweet Dan Kloeffler… I always get up for “Morning Joe” with Joe Scarborough and have recently been very annoyed because Dan did not preempt Joe with “First Watch”.
All the other blowhards / knuckleheads are waaaaay to hard to take early in the morning (or any other time for that matter)! Hats off to Dan and Joe (my all-time favorite).
