Survivor – Charlie and Marcus Update

Okay, so me and my sister Amanda are ~~obsessed~~ slightly curious about the possibility of gay Charlie and straight Marcus making out on Survivor. In last nights episode, while they awaited the results of their challenge scores, Marcus had his arm around Charlie, and I could have sworn that he nervously bit Charlie’s shoulder. Turns out I wasn’t the only one because an instant later I got a text message:

Amanda: Did marcus just kiss charlie on the shoulder when they started weighing the fruit?

Craig: Yes! I think he play bit it!

Amanda: OMG!!!! G A Y!!!!

Craig: Totally! They are SO gonna make out

Amanda: Merge wine!

Craig: LOL!

So I had confirmation that I wasn’t alone in seeing the bite/kiss. Did any of you guys see it? Anyway, if you’re unfamiliar with Survivor, when the two tribes lose about half their members, the tribes merge together, and they’re usually given a feast of wine and food to celebrate. They almost always get hammered off the wine since they haven’t had alcohol in weeks and don’t eat that much out there, and you can guarantee that at least one person vomits. Amanda’s theory is that this is when they’re gonna make out. And I have to say, I think it’s a pretty solid theory. Merge wine can make people do funny things.

UPDATE: Okay, so AfterElton has a pic of the biting. They say Marcus was eating a piece of leftover fruit off of Charlie’s shoulder. So perhaps he was just hungry. Either way, it’s totally cute! CHECK IT OUT!

Well, in keeping with my sceptic personality, I think the producers are offering straight Marcus incentives to lead gay Charlie on in order to make the show more “interesting”. But when it comes time to actually do anything more than nibble on his shoulder, Marcus will shun Charlie, leading to a total emotional meltdown and great “reality” TV. Or Bernd’s theory about the camera guy has merit. LOL

Hmmm. Definitely something there. I just showed my admin assist the pics of Charlie and Marcus. She agrees they’d make a great power couple, lawyer and doctor, but she’s with me on the consipiracy theory to cause a meltdown. We all know that HEAs never happen in reality TV.

I saw this as well last nite and made my best friend REWIND cuz she didnt notice it. I was fairly sure this happened BEFORE the challenge when Jeff told them they could keep the fruit (no, not charlie) from the challenge. In hunger, Marcus play bit Charlie. That was my take of it, at least. But my heart went out for Charlie cuz I too know how you take any little sign from a str8 crush that there might be something more there?

I used to be a Survivor addict, but I gave up on TV for the most part a while back. I do check the website now and again to see what’s going on. I had heard about the bromance and saw on another blog this morning about the fruit snacking. I would totally love to see those two get it on. Bow-chicka-bow-bow.

Well I never watched the show so I don’t know how straight Marcus really is, but it seems to me if he allows Charlie to be that close to him then he might not be straight at all…
So many times in life have I seen ‘straight’ guys let the gays get too close, then a year later tell the world they’re gay.
But the wine theory makes sense!

eeehhhhh. let me clarify. I think Starbuck is dead and what we see on BSG in the last season is something else, either a Cylon clone or some evil reincarnation. Whatever it is it’s become way to obsessive, intense and humorless. I miss the friendly banter she had going on with other characters.

I love kick-ass female characters, especially if they kick male ass, and hope they enjoy a healthy sex-life like their male counterparts. Sexually available women are not whores or sluts and more power to them.

I dont think there is enough to make a “best of” video. All they’ve really shown is them conspiring, Charlie saying he likes Marcus, Marcus saying he thinks Charlie has a crush on him, Marcus biting Charlie, Marcus playfully hugging Charlie back at camp.

I feel so young all of a sudden, getting into a fight with someone over a soap-opera. I hear in the last few episodes she will get pregnant, but doesn’t know who the father is as she’s slept with 2 many men and so claims it was an immaculate conception and that her child will be named Mathias, but then his battery runs out before the baptizement. And in the last episode it will be reveiled that Starbuck is god who had to sacrifice another son, so that humans and cylons are forgiven all their sins and can wage war on each other forever.
The end
Not a single relationsship on BSG, be it married or just sinful cohabitation looked real to me. Everyone always seemed to be just settling for whoever was handy and willing.

She’s no Cylon! and she’s the greatest character ever. (I watched every episode of BSG over the summer so I could start participating in these awesome BSG conversations on here).

Cute little nip from Marcus, would have been so much hotter if it had been on skin. But when he heard that they could keep their fruit, he wanted to take a bite out of his ‘fruit’

Wow, since I’m only watching BSG when it’s on TV, I’m forgetting lot’s of stuff. The cylons are so much more interesting than all the humans, they actually show development and learning, while the humans are stuck on their hatred of the toasters. Did you guys/girls already discuss the ending before the break?

OMG i love BSG so, so much. I thought that I could never find a show that would fill the science fiction/fantasy void that Buffy/angel/firefly left but BSG is just absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much Craig for introducing it to me. Shows like Torchwood and Lost just pale in comparison to BSG’s sheer brilliance.

Yeah Nicky, I’m old, jaded and cynical. To me Starbuck and Lee belong together and any relationship they enter with others is just not right and doomed. If they had a gay relationship in the series that I could be invested in, I would care a lot more about the straight ones. But I’m also a gay man not interested in monogamy, so all this agonizing over ‘cheating’ is not my thing.

Torchwood is an ok UK show that’s a spin-off of Dr. Who about a bisexual time traveler who heads Torchwood, an agency that makes sure the aliens and stuff that come out of some time rift or something don’t wreck havok. It’s fun stuff though one does wish that the episodes weren’t as stand-alone.

Yeah, I’ve been watching it. I think it’s been great this season. Even better than last season. It’s a shame not enough people are watching it. And John looks so much better with the hair cut. And he’s actually DOING stuff this season! Brian Austin Green is the best though.

It really has been a terrific season and Summer Glau has really been given room to show that she’s a terrific actress. That Allison from something episode was extremely strange and felt out of place (I wouldn’t call it bad by any means, though it had this weird thing that made me think about cylons) but Summer Glau gave just a terrific performance in that episode. Also gotta say that if you don’t watch Dexter, you really need to, it’s an amazing show.

Ya know, had Survivor advertised this season as having these two guys on there, in such shannigans, I might have actually watched it. But as it is, I’ve not watched survivor for several years. Torchwood, though, is pretty good…so I’m told.

Any just so everyone knows, Dave S. and I had a FABulous time last night. More details coming next week on my own blog when i get home and post it, And there’s lots of photos… hee, hee…
