I’ve asked this question before, but that was back when I only had about two readers, so I feel that I should be allowed to reuse posts now that I have approximately twelve. Recycling! Making the blogging world Greener one post at a time! Anyway, I saw a man wearing a winter coat on my way to work this morning and it made me think. I’m curious if a straight man can wear a winter coat with fur trim, even if it’s just a trim around the hood. Personally, I think any fur on a coat is murder unless its fake gayer than butt sex, but (LOL!) I’m curious to see what you guys think. Does a coat with fur trim — no matter how minimal — make him gay?

I live in Columbus, OH and it gets pretty cold. I see all kinds of guys wearing the fur trimmed coats. Having fur on a coat doesn’t make you gay unless its rainbow colored and made from gerbils!

No. It does not, especially if it is just around the collar. Almost every Icelandic guy had that kind of a coat last winter. If it is a full fur coat, you have several possible scenarios:
a) The guy is of any race and gay
b) The guy is black, yet straight, possibly even a pimp
c) The guy is hispanic straight (a hispanic guy in my class is undoubtately straight, yet has a tan fur coat)
d) The guy is old, yet straight
Therefore, a young white guy wearing a full fur coat, will necessarily be gay.
Craig: A good friend of mine just pointed out that Han Solo wears a fur trimmed coat in Empire Strikes Back and added: “That is *so* not gay.”
Han and Chewie’s relationship is questionable.
The response is that they are “man and man’s best friend, armed”. (He is defending his theory and states that while they may have slept in the same bed, it was *totally* straight.)
Look at all the hoodies that Abercrombie, Aeropostale and Pac Sun are pushing, they all have faux fur lining on them this year. I don’t think it’s really gay to have one of those…yet I’m gay and I want one…hmmm…but if it were real fur…my bets would be the guy buying it is gay
I’m a bisexual male and LOVE parkas with fur hood and fur lined hoodies! I’ve always been obsessed with fur – it all started when I was very small – I kinda always liked cuddly things – but not dolls or glitzy girls stuff. 10 years in a freezing boys boading school only reinforced this obsession. Fur hoods ARE a bit gay but I am just estatic they have become fashionable!!
