In case there was any question where I got my dorkiness from, I can tell you for certain that it came from my parents. Because when I got home from having a great time in the city with Michelle, where we embraced our mutual love of musicals and soup in bread bowls, I got a surprise at the door. Mom with ice cream cake, still excitedly lighting the candles, and Dad with the camera ready:

Okay, well maybe not that dorky. After all, they did get me a bottle of Tanqueray to hold me over until my real birthday present arrives on November 18th, in the form of the Remastered Star Trek – Original Series DVDs. Yay! And then it was off to a party at my friends Jen and Rob’s place, which was also a blast. There may or may not have been Saved by the Bell trivia and I may or may not have been fairly awesome at it. All in all, I had a great birthday yesterday! Thank you everyone so much for your wishes!

Horray for argyle!
Love the pics and what a wonderful smile in that first pic! So nice to see genuine smiles that aren’t staged (something I can’t do well as you know, LOL).
And OMG you’re so high up my A-list with that Tanqueray! I bought some from Heathrow in September when we went to Egypt (as it was duty-free, it’s a bit too £££ otherwise and I’m more likely to buy Gordon’s which is cheaper). Haven’t had any in a while as have been out of ice and guess what I bought from the supermarket yesterday – ICE! Much to Sheridan’s horror as he says I should make it myself. But I don’t cut corners with G&T!
Glad you had a fab day old stick!
Way to show off your butt in the 4th pic!
You look extra long in that one too…
Glad you had fun! I love ice cream cake… Mmmm.
I have to admit, I also thought you were looking particularly good in the 4th picture. I also thought that you don’t look your stated age.
It appears that you not only got your dorkiness from your parents but your height as well. Your mom looks pretty tall in that first pic, though it may be the angle of the photo.
Glad you had a great birthday.
You are looking pretty damn good for being a tad sickly. Imagine when you are feeling 100%. That is so cute about the cake and the gin. Your parents are adorable. Ice-cream cake with a gin chaser, mmmmm.
Glad you had such a fun day.
OK, that is the sweetest thing I’ve seen lately!! What great parents, & good for you for appreciating a gesture like that. SO awesome! I hope when our kiddos are grown & on their own, they’d be happy when we do stuff like that…’cause that’s right up my alley!
How can such a cute/funny guy be single? Weird.
Hope your birthday wish comes true!
Pssst… hey… I think someone from the Blue Man Group has been feeling up your mom.
I had a great time too!
Since we were talking about Amanda Bynes yesterday I watched Sydney White last night. Have you seen it? It’s a cute updated version of Snow White with a bit of Revenge of the Nerds thrown in. The best part is when all the kids in the school proudly proclaim that they are dorks.
Happy Birthday to You
You live in a Zoo
You look like a monkey
and you smell like one too!
OK, Not Really, yes that’s the childish song my nieces sing to me on my birthday. You look nothing like a monkey, and although I haven’t had the pleasure, I suspect you don’t smell like one either.
Oh, and Totally Sexy pic of you reading the card. Where did you inherit your bubble butt?
And was that a check in your right hand? My birthday is Jan. 12th. Just in case your parents are still in a check writing mood.
Cute photos! Given your previous weight concerns, I have to say that you do look rather well proportioned. And have a cute butt!
Happy post-birthday.
Because everyone else is talking about your butt, I thought I’d point out the pineapple lamp behind it. It’s nice too
Thanks everyone!
While I always welcome compliments about my ass, I need to point out that my wallet is in my back pocket which may make it appear more ba-da-dunk-a-dunk than it really is.
Travis: Funny that you call it the pineapple lamp! I call is the Spiderman lamp, because it always reminded me of his red costume with the darker webbing criss-crossing over it.
Your parents: soooo sweet! But now can we talk about how cute you look?
This has nothing to do with your birthday surprise or your pink living room, but I have to tell you my daughter has a reward chart going. She gets to draw her own smiley face whenever she’s been a good listener. She drew one the other day that was an exact replica of Vagina Girl (she’s not very good at drawing circles yet). I meant to take a pic, but she erased it to start the week fresh before I got the chance. You would have been proud!
Bossy, when did we stop talking about how cute I am?
LOL Kimi, that is hysterical!
And luckily the living room isn’t as Barbie’s Dream House in person as it looks in pictures
Hey Craig, glad to hear that you had a wonderful birthday and to hear that you like soup in bread bowls, I mean who can resist soup in a bread bowl: it’s so playful and delicious.
Enrico: “You look extra long in that one too…” I don’t know what that means but I’m thinking I would find the answer on urbandictionary, and that it’d probably be something different than what I was expecting.
Now we know why you’re dorky. The pink living room you grew up in also nicely explains your gayness.
Sounds like a GREAT birthday for you! And wallet or not, you got a nice ass, man.
HUGS…
Polt: I’m pretty sure that the room is coral, you need to watch more interior designing shows. Pink is far too simple for a paint name.
Well I meant long as tall, but Craig probably took it the urbandictionary way (which I still don’t believe with no proof).
Wow, a cute butt and a fat wallet. Those match.com men must be beating a path to your door.
digkv: I would say that the color of the living room might be described as Salmon. However, I suppose paint color names get even fancier than that, perhaps it could be called Salmon’s Breath.
Enrico: I think we should convince Craig to give us some proof.
Chris: Salmon is also a good choice, I’m sure it’s something like Salmon’s Breath in Caribbean Coral Reef Pink or something like that.
I agree with Enrico, hot 4th picture! I’m going to get my first bottle of gin this year as I turn the big 21, although that isn’t coming from my parents and most likely me having to buy my own to make my first martini!
Hope you had a wonderful birthday!
Craig: We know you got it. Stop blaming the wallet and shake what your momma gave you. I like the spiderman lamp idea. Much geekier than pineapple. Sweet.
Steven: I’m not a huge gin fan, but I must admit, I’ve never had an actual martini. I much prefer other drinks, like simple shots and cranberry vodkas.
Oh… feliz belated cumpleanos, Craig!
-Him
Look how stylish Craig is with that jacket! I wonder how the hangover is today with that bottle being cracked open…Happy Birthday Week Craig, enjoy!
My parents would NEVER buy my a bottle of anything alcoholic, and if they did, my mother would be handing it to me with tears in her eyes, sure this was the beginning of a terrible slide towards alcoholism. Your folks are totally cool.
Craig, you look totally hot in that picture where you’re reading the card!
digkv: I always tell him to compare; I thought that’d be a big enough draw for him to show me some evidence! But alas, nothing is revealed.
Happy Birthday! Don’t worry about being a dork, I’d still go to Bill Knapps for my birthday if they were still around. Bill Knapps=Heavens Waiting Room
You are one sweet dork! (There’s something I never thought I’d type.)
Nice jeans…
Oooo, I love the sweater. If I ever come to New York we’re going out as twins to hit on straight couples. We’ll be the ultimate team!
Nice legs in the jeans!
Happy belated birthday Craig! Hope you didn’t overdo it on the gin…love the sweater, and your dork factory looks like a very nice lady. I guess dorkiness is hereditary, since she’s being a big dork along with you!
May this is your best year yet!
