Random Notes

1. I’ve watched 8 episodes of Torchwood so far and I still love it. Countrycide was an amazing episode! So creepy, and I love the way they left things unexplained. And I have to say, even though I’m not exactly sure of what his role at Torchwood is (butler?) I think Ianto is my favorite character.

2. The other day I fell asleep on the train going home from work like I normally do, but this time I was in an aisle seat instead of a window one. I awoke to something rustling in my hair and it turns out I was completely leaning over into the aisle (nearly sideways) and the rustling in my hair was people trying to squeeze passed through the aisle. I opened my eyes and saw someone on the other side of the train looking at me and smiling (also known as “mocking with thine mouth”).

3. Can the Heroes writers please figure out what they want to do with Hiro? He was such a great character first season, and with the glimpse we saw of him in the future, he had the potential to evolve into an amazing badass. But now he is just floundering in uselessness. Granted, the future that made Hiro become such a badass was averted, there should still be a hint of that awesome Hiro from the future inside of him. Not a 10 year old.

4. The America’s Next Top Model finale is on tonight. My money is on McKey.

5. I have 31 Puntabulous People so far. And they are great! I can’t wait to share them with you on Friday! Please consider submitting one if you haven’t already! I’ll need them by Thursday evening in time to add them to Friday’s post. I’m also thinking of posting the drawings of people with blogs in my blogroll. I think it’ll spice up my horridly long blogroll and help the readers with blogs who submitted drawings stand out. Good idea?

  1. Zero, you’re my hero.

    HUGS…

  2. jomosexual

    i am so confused.

  3. Seriously, I have no idea what’s going on. All bonus points awarded for staying on topic during the last post may need to be reconsidered.

  4. jomosexual

um. Craig, I just want you to know that it really worries me that you fall asleep on the train. I just saw Midnight Meat Train….(which was pretty scary until the end)….and I don’t want that to happen to you.

  5. Tam

Schoolhouse Rock people? Conjunction Junction? You’re my Hero Zero? Staying on topic is highly over rated. We got the prize yesterday for that, that should have kept you content for a week or two at least Craig.

  6. So if you’re happy (YAY), or sad (AWW) or frightened (EKK) or mad (Rats!) or excited (WOW) or glad (HEY), an interjection starts the sentence riiiiiiight!

Loved Schoolhouse Rock….but kinda worried that I remember this crap from thirty years ago, but can’t remember what I had for supper last night.

    HUGS…

  7. Hey, anyone seen Enrickyricardo today? Has he been on recently? More computer trouble?

    HUGS….

  8. jomosexual

    I was born in ’82…..

    :::Crickets, Crickets::::

  9. Hey, the topic’s random notes, right? I’m mean, that’s, y’know, random.

  10. 1.) Craig, did you know that is my favorite picture of you??
2.) Great idea about the blogroll!
3.) Tam, you’re calling him (Nico) that cause it’s easy.
4.) I can’t wait to see the Puntabupeople either!
5.) My musical went well! My teacher loves me now.

  11. “And we were sufferin’ until suffrage, when a woman could not vote no matter what age. Then the 19th amendment broke down that restrictive rule!”

“Three is a magic number. Yeah it is. It’s a magic number. Somewhere in that ancient mystic trinity, there was three. It’s a magic number. The past and the present and the future. Faith and hope and charity. The heart and the soul and body gives you three. It’s a magic number…”

Okay, Three is my all-time favorite SHR. Definitely.

  12. Tam

Wow, Polt calls and Enrico arrives. Its like some kind of freaky mental connection. I’m impressed.

Your are right Enrico, but I’ll never confuse him with you love. You’re the first Nicky (Nico, etc.) in my heart. (Even if you DON’T watch Supernatural and think Castiel is sex on a stick.) Yay on your musical. Hope you get an A++++

You’re just a baby Joe. :-) I’m just thanking my lucky stars for google. Although I’m going to be singing that freaking conjunction junction song all night now. Damn.

  13. john

Dave S.: I’m so disappointed you didn’t catch my “She’s hot” comment about Meredith. Or perhaps you were being kind by ignoring it…..

I love Schoolhouse Rock. I submit for your approval: “3 is a magic number” and “Oh, I put a dime in the drugstore record machine.
Oldies goldies started playing if you know what I mean.
I heard Chubby Checker, he was doin’ the twist
And the Beatles and the Monkees, it goes like this!
I put a dime in the drugstore record machine.”

    Enrico: Who doesn’t love you?

  14. Tam

Holy crap Dave. Is SHR some kind of cult?

    I’m just a bill.
    Yes, I’m only a bill.
And I’m sitting here on Capitol Hill.

Of course as a Canadian kid I had no clue what the hell Capitol Hill was, but it rhymed so I was happy.

  15. M. Nicodemus

    Congrats Enrico!

Does anyone else remember the “I’m just a bill” number from School House Rock? I would never have passed 9th grade Government without that little guy.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEJL2Uuv-oQ

Hey you guyyyys! Who remembers the Electric Company? Wait, am I the only bicentennial baby here? Anyone? Anyone?

  16. Tam

Damn Nico, you must be my other soul mate (can you have more than one) since I just posted the little quote from I’m Just a Bill. Great minds think alike. I was born before the bicentennial but I remember Morgan Freeman on Electric company. Groovy.

  17. jomosexual

…….I am so hungry right now I could die. I don’t know what to cook for dinner! What’s everyone’s favorite meal growing up. Mine was “Taco Suprise” my mom would make it when she didn’t have enough time to make something big and time consuming. It was sooooo good.

  18. Mine was sloppy joes. Yum!

  19. I remember The Electric Company, mostly from reruns…..can still recall most of the theme song….until The Great Space Coaster and Gary Gnu stole me away.

I even remember watching this once or twice in grade school…but I’ll only post the opening lyrics from one of its songs, since I like trivia…

Sisters and brothers, brothers and sisters
    Ain’t we, everyone
Brothers and sisters, sisters and brothers
Every father’s daughter, every mother’s son

  20. Tam

Hmmmm. Probably my Grandma’s homemade vegetable beef soup, made from scratch with homemade bread. What to make for dinner? I have some Mexican spicy blah blah cheese (not sure what its called exactly) and tortillas. Guess I could make cheese quesadillas with something. Not very motivated.

  21. jomosexual

Tam: That sounds good. (the soup not the cheese) haha. My mom used to make a really good Chicken Soup from scratch. mmmmmm.

I’m thinking of making steak and boursin cheese mashed potatoes or pork loin with a mushroom and white wine reduction. (Can you tell I get bored and love to cook)

  22. Adric

Ianto is totally my boyfriend. I’m excited to hear about your thoughts on the later episodes of season one because there are some great things coming up. Ditto for season two.

Mckey, really? I think they’re gunning for Annaleigh (or however you spell it) because they’ve been working up her underdog-transformational status all season. At least we can both agree that it won’t be Samantha.

  23. Tam

You got something against spicy Mexican shredded cheese in a bag Joe? Just cause I’m not classy like you. :-P Doesn’t help that I haven’t been shopping in over a week so we’re getting a bit desperate.

  24. that is such a great image you were brushing folks’ legs with your flattop! HA! :)

  25. jomosexual

Tam: ha I have nothing against bagged cheese. I have 3 different bags of sargento at home haha!. I just need more than only cheese to satisfy my big boy appetite.

  26. Bill

FDot! Free to be, You and Me! I remember that from Grade School Too!

  27. Tam

Joe: Yeah well, we are pretty much carnivores but tonight might be an exception since any meat I have is frozen solid and I’m not motivated to go out and buy anything. I do have broccoli. Quesadillas and broccoli? Fancy schmancy or freaking weird? I could toss in some Doritos and call it a side dish.

  28. jomosexual

I have this thing for corn dogs. It’s like a sick obsession. I went grocery shopping just recently, and I always try to stay as fresh and organic as possible….but I walked past the frozen foods section and saw the big 16 box of Corn dogs and stopped dead in my tracks.

I literally sat there and stared at them and thought. Maybe I could throw a party and corn dogs could be the food and that would justify me buying them. Yes I was going to plan an entire party for the sole purpose of having an excuse to buy corn dogs.

  29. No snappy remark about my enjoyment of sloppy joes? Joemo, I expect more from you!

  30. jomosexual

OMG I didn’t even go there! Wow you know you’re a fat boy when you pass up sexual inuendo for the thought of actually having a sloppy joe.

You should know that I’m quite the opposite of sloppy….but I’m sure all that will change when you’re through with me. ;-)

    There is that better?!

  31. Tam

Corndog, horndog, that must be why they call to you Joe. Personally the idea of a corndog makes me slightly queezy, but if you invited me over for a party I’d smile politely and say thanks.

  32. jomosexual

Tam: The point would be not for you to eat them. I’d probably make mini quiche for guests and then sit in my room all night and eat all the corn dogs. I’m Serious…..I have a problem.

  33. joemosexual: *SIGH*…youth.

Enrickynickyricardo: Well there you are! Glad your musical went well, punkin. WE gonna get a YouTube video of it?

Dave S.: Far be it from me to disagree…well i will. I’m just a bill, and the declaration of independence song one were my favorites. But then I AM a social studies geek. And I STILL know the DOL song…singing right now actually…

    HUGS…

  34. NICO: ( I too shall call you that, because Tam calls you that, and she’s my idol), I DO remember the Electric company…Easy Reader, Spiderman, Letterman…loved it!

FDot: “Gno Gnews Is Good Gnus, WIth Gary Gnu!”

joemo: Mama Polt’s homemade spaghetti and meatballs! Everything was homemade, the sauce, the meatballs…well not the spaghetti, but you get the idea. Yummmy!

    HUGS…

  35. My God, I’m gone two hours and it’s like a whole nuther post’s worth of comments…

Adric: Hmm, who knew there were two guys named Ianto in the world, cause the one on Torchwood is MY boyfriend.

joemo: you crave the corndogs cause you’re not getting…something somewhere else? just askin….

    HUGS…

  36. M. Nicodemus

Hmm… I will have to go with split pea soup with cheesy garlic bread for my fav homemade meal growing up. Soup is still my biggest comfort food, but nothing can compare with take out Chinese!

Polt: Gary Gnu was the shiznit, and for some reason I got a kick out of that speed reader guy. Guess I’ll chalk that one up to my bookworm gene.

  37. Tam

Joe: Oooooh, little quiche. Those don’t make me queezy. I’d wrestle a corndog out of your hot little hand and save you.

Polt: Awwwww. Love you. *smooch* (no tongue as usual – don’t want to squick you out ;-) ) But don’t make me separate you and Adric. Rotisserie remember. Enough Ianto to go around I’m sure.

  38. jomosexual

HAHA Polt: I’ve got plenty of pork in my life….if that’s what your asking.

  39. Tam: Ah yes, rotisserie…how could I forget?

Joemo: Pork? Pork? I thought we were talking about corndogs. :) (and see joemo, the stripping to your undies put my temporarily clean mind rightback in the gutter…where it belongs.)

    HUGS…

  40. jomosexual

Pork like whats in the corndogs……also like the slang verb for sex. ;-)

  41. You mean that all I had to do to actually get on to someone’s blog roll was to send them a sophomoric artistic rendering of me and my cat?

Hells bells! I wish I would have known that a year ago.

  42. I had a very clever comment to put here, but I see there are 91 comments before me. That’s insane! My clever comment will be lost in the crowd! Shame… I have so many interesting things to say…

  43. But I always love hearing what you have to say People in the Sun! No voice is ever drowned out here at Puntabulous! Regardless of all the ridiculousness that goes on! :-P

  44. Well, except for my voice once in a while. Or maybe that’s not so much being drowned out as much as people just kinda zoning me out… :-?

  45. Not that that’s going to stop me… :-)

  46. Y’know, I look nothing like my avatar anymore.

  47. Bernd

    fishing for compliments again, Dave?

  48. Tam

Okay, there are 98 posts on this thread. I can’t just click away. MUST … POST.

  49. Tam

Nice to see you on in the evening Dave. So how long ago was your avatar created or does your hair grow really fast? Have you grown a nose since then? I think Michelle M commented you appear to have no nose in your avatar.

Okay, that should be at least 100 and I can go to bed happy tonight. Well, not “happy”, posting here is great but there are limits.
