Happy 6th Birthday Emily!

November 20, 2008
By

Rising star, genius of the South, and niece of unfunny blogger Emily turns 6 years old today! And even though she’s a little lady these days (she’s in kindergarten! and losing baby teeth!) she’s still a goober.

Happy Birthday Emily! And do your Uncle Craig a favor and not make him feel so old! I mean SIX?! Seriously?!

    Aww… Happy Birthday, Emily!

I remember when I was six…when life consisted of eating my bugars, wetting the bed, and crushing on Mrs. Lovell, my kindergarten teacher. Ah, the good ole days…

Obviously a Very Proud Uncle! I can relate.

And Dave S.: “Eating my bugars” ? All I ever ate was paste, and I would spread Elmers glue on my palm, let it dry, then peel it off. The coolest thing ever!!!!

Happy Birthday Emily! Don’t forget to tell us what AWESOME gifts Uncle Craig got for you!

Mark: Ooooo, the paste on the fingers! What fun…although I don’t recall ever eating it.

Dave S.: I believe it’s spelled boogers….but eating them…ew! Okay, I can safely say now that there is ONE thing in this world that Dave S. has had in his mouth that I have not! :)

(Should I feel bad for throwing that last bit into a post about a six year old’s birthday?)

    HUGS…

Polt: I gave the wrong impression. The paste I ate was from the small jars with the screw lids that had the “paddle” that extended down into the thick paste. (Very tasty in case anyone wants to try)

The elmers glue thing was done purely for fun.

Wow. That pic in the bottom left is the best ever.

polt: I’m confused. Vagina wasn’t that answer?

Happy Birthday Emily! And best wishes for many, many more to come!

How *adorable* is that graduation picture?! Oh, and that is quite a bit of sass she is displaying in the top middle picture.

Dave, I’m flattered beyond belief that you actually ran the ad and must conclude that the women in Columbus have no taste, no sense of humor and don’t like gay bloggers. But I accept full responsibility and sacrifice myself to end your dry-spell.

John: Yup, that is quite a bit of sass Miss Emily is displaying in the top-middle picture. But then again, she gets it from her Uncie Craig!

Happy Birthday Emily. Hope you had an amazing birthday!

Happy birthday Emily! I don’t recall my sixth birthday, it was rather more than a few years back. Hold on to child-like wonder as long as you can, it will give you a better and richer view of the world than many adults allow themselves to see.

I am on my way to becoming an uncle for the first time. I saw the first ultrasound photo today. Life is an amazing thing.

  21. Tam on November 20, 2008 at 8:24 pm

Congrats Chris. Mojo for a safe trip to this world for the little one.

  22. john on November 20, 2008 at 10:31 pm

Chris: Congratulations! Being an uncle is great. I became an uncle for the first time when I was 11 and became a great uncle (literally in addition to figuratively) twice last year.

A belated Very Happy Birthday to Emily! I hope that her day was full of fun. And balloons. And presents. And lots and lots of smiles.
