Remember how I wrote that story a while back called How to Change the World? You don’t? Well I did. And for fun I decided to draw some basic (read: very basic) illustrations in MSPaint (obvs) to go along with it. Ryan had previously introduced me to the online bookstore Blurb so I thought it would be neat to put it into book format. Here it is:

Aren’t I an artistic genius? No? Oh right. Anyway, if you want to order a copy CLICK HERE and purchase away! The prices weren’t set by me, and are kind of expensive (don’t forget that dreadful shipping and handling!) so I wouldn’t blame you for not buying it, especially when the drawings are so childish and I’ve already pretty much given the book away right here. And no, I didn’t add a markup for myself, it’s already expensive enough. This was just a fun project for me, and thought I’d share it with you guys.

If I had kids or cousins who I cared about, I’d totally order that book – I really like the concept and the art. Seriously – the simple art seems perfect for it.

My only gripe… no boobies on the mother.

I read your blog most everday. That was quite a wonderful little story. If I had kids, I would have already had one on order. Loved it!

Well, it looks a lot cheaper if you set the price in British pounds. That’s the ultimate in self-publishing. I remember your story, its got a great message and simple illustrations work.

Sometimes the simpler something is, the most it’s message gets across. Well done, my friend.
HUGS…

I will be ordering this for myself, no need to have a child and I would buy one even if you had marked it up, it is that good! It is a great story and I will be proud to own it!!! Well done Craig, I hope this is only the beginning!

Nicely done, Waffle.

Awesome! I like the art. I have just ordered mine. I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a first edition print.

I absolutely love this. The artwork is simple and perfect. I really like how the stick figure boy’s looking-down pose also doubles as a down-trodden look, as though he’s not really expecting to find the answers he’s looking for. Very cool.
I ordered my copy yesterday. Can’t wait to get it.

If you look back to some of those photos from Craig in college he looks as thin as the figures he draws in the book…

I really like the style you came up with. Simple yet clear. Stop being so talented. It’s getting annoying.

Oh, I’m going to order one. I’ll read it to the kids in my class (they’re 4 – 5) and let you know what they think.
Too bad they’re not autographed…

Michelle, I was thinking the same thing about the autographs! Presumably that will happen on the book tour (like Bossy’s tour from blogger to blogger across the country…)

Thank you everyone for your kind words! I hope everyone who bought one is pleased with the finished product. I have mine (hardcover with dust jacket) and it’s a really nice quality.
I’ll come sign your book if you let me stay in your guest room! (And pay for my plane ticket/gas)

I totally want to get mine signed as well.
Craig: You can totally stay in any room you want at my house. I’d cover the gas, and even throw in a meal or two. But alas, I suspect that my hopes of obtaining a signature are foiled by the fact that no airline would fly the short distance from Long Island to NJ.
Oh well.
