I for one have been loving these past episodes. The Ellen episode last week was particularly awesome. I love Cavil as the Big Bad and I love his reasons for being so pissed off. It makes for a much smaller, and more personal story.

And I really like the backstory they’ve created with the final 5 creating the other 8 skin jobs. We think Starbuck has to be a descendant of Daniel (the lost Cylon) right?

I was livid when Ellen was revealed as the fifth. She’s annoying and looks like she’s from Whoville. But last week might have changed my mind. She’s way less annoying now.

  3. Sven on February 20, 2009 at 6:09 am

I’m still interested to see how the whole Cylon religion works out. And the story is with the Virtual Six/Baltar thing. They mentioned in the last episode that the final five had been warned about the impending apocalypse (Tyrol saw a woman, Tory saw a man etc) so who are they, hmmm?

  4. Craig on February 20, 2009 at 7:20 am

I was really excited about Ellen. Her character was kind of a trashy disaster, but that’s half the fun. If anyone was going to claw their way back to relevance, it was her. But now she’s better than ever!

Sven: I’m curious about that also. Maybe Baltar is related to Daniel instead? That could explain his Head Six.

  5. bernd on February 20, 2009 at 8:08 am

The last couple of episodes were awesome. I like how they reveal secrets episode by episode instead of overloading the last one. Trashy disaster describes Ellen to a T, so much fun. I stpped speculating about Starbuck, but can’t wait to find out what’s up. Will they find earth at the end?

  6. Craig on February 20, 2009 at 8:11 am

I’m still holding onto the hope that the Earth they found isn’t our Earth, and that they will find our Earth (distinguished by the continents) by the last episode.

  7. David on February 20, 2009 at 8:21 am

I’m all caught up, if by “caught up” you mean “haven’t watched any of it.”

  8. polt on February 20, 2009 at 8:31 am

Ehhhh, I got nothing. Not even an obligatory Torchwood reference, sorry. The blonde chick looks pretty hot in the red dress though….and this from a gay guy…who knows enough to know she’s a Cylon. Crazy, eh?

    HUGS…

  9. Enrico on February 20, 2009 at 9:42 am

I’m just sad that Zak Adama wasn’t the final cylon. It would have been so dramatic!
And I never thought of Baltar’s connection to Daniel…. that’s a good point.
Anders is too seksi to be bald and vegetative.
I love the episode where the rebellion ended because it was basically an opportunity to show how awesome Roslin in. Love her!

  10. FDot on February 20, 2009 at 9:48 am

I’ll have to see where they take this Cavil/John development. I quite liked the idea of humanity’s children rising up against their parents and changing that to one cylon model annoyed at his limitations…well….we’ll see.

The backstory of the final five was good and I agree that while they came from Earth, it’s not necessarily the only Earth available for them.

I’m not sure if Starbuck is from this extra cylon. I thought it was more a way to describe why there was no model #7. It seems to easy an explanation for her.

I think Pythia may still come into play and the dying leader will prove to be either Roslin, Lee or the Admiral.

As long as Tyrol lasts to the final episode and does something amazing, I’ll be satisfied.

  11. Craig on February 20, 2009 at 11:02 am

Roslin is totally back to being awesome lately. She was starting to bother me for a while, but she’s back on track.

I’m still not crazy about Tyrol. Sorry FDot!

Anyone notice that if you put the 5th Cylon in the Last Super pic, she’s right next to Tigh and he’s giving her a funny look.

Also, the Galactica is totally gonna turn into a Cylon now!

  12. Ryan R. on February 20, 2009 at 12:32 pm

It was necessary that Roslin go through her identity crisis. She had put so much into her role as the dying leader that it would take an asshole like Tom Zarek to pull her out when her identity collapsed.

They did a good job at cramming that much exposition into one episode. It could have easily became boring or awkward.

I’m trying to think of all the rebellions in BSG. The Cylons rebel against the thirteenth tribe. The eight new models rebel against the final five. The Cylons rebel against the twelve colonies. Lee rebels against his father. The humans rebel against the Cylon occupiers at New Caprica. Half of the Cylons rebel against Cavil. Gaeta and Zarek rebel against Roslin and Adama. Did I miss anything?

  13. Craig on February 20, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Wow, that’s quite a list Ryan. Good catch. Just like the Hybrid said: “All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.”

Here’s a header I made with Ellen in the place of the missing Cylon, but didn’t want to put it on the main page in case people haven’t seen it yet:

    http://puntabulous.com/wp-content/lastsuperheaderfinal.png

Here’s the full sized version. It’s all I could do with MSPaint but it gets the point across. I love the way Tigh is looking at her now. And don’t mind the fact that she doesn’t have legs. Cylons don’t need legs.

  14. Enrico on February 20, 2009 at 12:56 pm

LOL! That is the best thing I’ve ever seen. What an amazing pose! Because of that header, I think I now love Ellen!

  15. Hayden on February 20, 2009 at 2:01 pm

That red dress makes me want to watch this show!

  16. Michelle on February 20, 2009 at 2:29 pm

I’m really going to miss this show when it ends. The last episodes have been great, especially the action and seeing Starbuck’s kick ass side back after last season. I was disappointed that Ellen was the final cylon but I did like what they are doing with her character now.

I wasn’t happy about seeing Sam last week (sans hair) and am worried that he’s gone now – at least mentally.

Regarding the cylon world/maybe earth, I had a weird thought when that first happened that they may be heading toward a revelation that the humans were descended from cylons since that’s where our technology is headed (computers on a cellular level). Probably not going to happen but it would be kinda cool.

  17. Enrico on February 20, 2009 at 2:29 pm

Hayden: Except that cylon model tends to wear NOTHING way more than that red dress….

  18. Craig on February 20, 2009 at 2:41 pm

Michelle: I thought of you during all the Anders scenes last week! Poor Anders. He’s such a nice guy and always had nice hair! :-(

At first I thought there was hope for him because Ellen resurrected so I thought Cavil somehow managed to have resurrection technology still, but then realized that was a flashback. So if Anders doesn’t make it, he’s gone for good. I really hope that isn’t the case!

I definitely think humans descending from cylons is a possiblity! Or at least maybe us humans nowadays, are the descendants of cylons/human hybrids like Hera.

  19. digkv on February 20, 2009 at 3:41 pm

I for one and happy and what they did to Gaeta, he was starting to piss me off all last season and he never believed in Starbuck. I loved how Starbuck really does love Anders, it’s great to see that she has love for him even with her anti-cylon sentiments.

  20. Craig on February 20, 2009 at 4:02 pm

I enjoyed the Gaeta storyline also. It could have been a disaster, but it was smooth and concise, and very realistic. Even though it was over in about 2 episodes, it didn’t feel rushed.

I’m also glad that Starbuck is retaining her feelings for Anders. He’s such a good guy.

  22. digkv on February 20, 2009 at 5:07 pm

Craig: Oh for sure, Anders is awesome but now I’m sad at what happened to him =[. Oh by the way, have you had the chance to see Dollhouse, the new Joss Whedon show? I’m not sure if you mentioned it, but you should totally see it! I’m pretty sure Enrico has right? I mean, the first ep was pretty mediocre but I’m gonna try to give this show a chance, it’s effing Joss Whedon!

  23. Kári on February 20, 2009 at 5:31 pm

I am just so in awe of everything that I am at a total loss for words. I love the show more than ever and I am going to be incredibly sad when it goes off the air. But then there is Caprica and the rumours I have been hearing about that are quite interesting.

  24. bernd on February 20, 2009 at 7:16 pm

I don’t think, that this is it for Anders/Sam. Ellen will flip a switch and he’ll be back, I hope, please, please, please. Will Ellen reactivate the other 3′s memories?

  25. Enrico on February 20, 2009 at 8:04 pm

bernd: I don’t think this is the end of Anders either. I don’t know exactly what will happen though. And the only thing I really have no guesses for is what’s up with Starbuck. I’m so confused. Which is great!

  26. bernd on February 20, 2009 at 8:27 pm

Yeah, Enrico, I’m enjoying that Starbuck is back to her kick-ass ways, but have no clue what’s going to happen to her.

Craig, great job on filling Ellen into the last supper. So would Daniel go between the 6 and Starbuck? And neither is looking at him. Does that mean he’s gay? (grasping at straws here) Or just hotter than both of them. (I’m ok with that as well)

  27. Enrico on February 20, 2009 at 8:35 pm

Daniel is the real name of Zak Adama!

  28. Enrico on February 20, 2009 at 9:51 pm

I just watched Dollhouse. And I cried when Echo said, “Shall I go now?” lol. And “She hurts…” was pretty bad too.
I must admit that every time (two words) I see Eliza Dushku on screen, I wish she were Sarah Michelle Gellar.
    And where’s the wit??
But overall, I did like it. I liked Helo saying, “Wash your hands.” And the dock scene was pretty good. But I didn’t get the ‘teacher’ part and why was he naked at the end? Oh, and their beds are pretty cool!
    Are you watching Craig?

  29. Craig on February 20, 2009 at 11:03 pm

Yeah, I watched Dollhouse. This week was definitely better than last week. But I agree, that it’s missing Whedon’s typical witty fun.

Unfortunately BSG was pretty meh tonight. Agree?

  30. bernd on February 20, 2009 at 11:18 pm

Craig, agree, BSG was totally meh. Way to disappoint, get Ellen in touch with Saul and she turns into the boozy floozy of prior seasons. Adama wandering through Galactica’s bowels with his mourning look got old very fast too. I’m starting to lose overview of which 6 and which 8 is who and did what to whom when.

  31. Craig on February 20, 2009 at 11:22 pm

Why don’t Gaius and Caprica Six have any interactions? Didn’t they start off the series together? Isn’t she the whole reason he has her stuck in his head? They need to address that.

I’m also getting sick of Adama. Roslin came back from the brink, but Adama needs to follow suit and put the bottle away and become the respectful admiral he once was.

  32. Enrico on February 20, 2009 at 11:25 pm

I haven’t watched BSG (or Dollhouse) yet so I’ve skimmed your latest comments. lol.
I only saw last week’s Dollhouse but it’s good to hear it is better this week (though I didn’t dislike ep 1).
Now back to the AMAZING new Kelly Clarkson cd!

  33. ExAstrisScientia on February 21, 2009 at 8:54 am

Yes Craig I agree, I am very dissapointed in Adama being drunk all the time, it’s just not right, he probably won’t sober up until someone dies because he’s drunk, perhaps Roslin.

  34. Tracy on February 23, 2009 at 1:05 pm

Here’s my theory about Starbuck as posted on Facebook last week:

I think she is Saul and Ellen Tigh’s daughter. It explains a lot. Her memories of the temple and her obsession with the symbol in the temple, the emotional distance between her and her (possibly foster) mother, her inexplicably bitter relationship with Saul Tigh (and her possibly genetic pre-disposition to alcoholism), her extreme bad-assedness. She is a member of the 13th tribe but not technically one of the final five, explaining her ability to resurrect, and Saul and Ellen can’t remember that they are her parents.

    Good, no?

  35. Craig on February 23, 2009 at 1:06 pm

    Love that theory!

  36. Tracy on February 23, 2009 at 1:12 pm

I know. My brain is awesome. ;)

  37. Ryan on February 23, 2009 at 3:37 pm

That is an interesting theory. They would have to flesh out the mechanics a bit, and it might conflict with something, but at least it doesn’t add some completely new thing at the very end.
