Who lets movies like this exist? I mean, you know I love bad movies (cough Catwoman cough Barb Wire cough) but this doesn’t look good bad, it’s looks bad bad:
Okay, the blowfish bits were kinda funny, and you can’t go wrong with an Adam West cameo. But otherwise this looks atrocious. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to let the lesser Jimmy Olsen headline a movie? And Captain Awesome, this is so not awesome!
I will undoubtedly pay money to see this in a theatre. I mean, it’s a superhero movie (parody?). If I didn’t learn my lesson with My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Superhero Movie, Mystery Men, Sky High, and Elektra (which I don’t think was trying to be a parody…), I probably haven’t learned it yet.
Hmmm… they can double-feature it with the so-gonna-be-awesome-not Galactica film with all the 70s stuff in it.
I used to like Justin Whalin (he was so hot in Star Trek the Next Generation) until I saw him in Serial Mom. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111127/ It was so awful I blocked it from my memory. I haven’t seen a trailer so bad in quite awhile…
Sky High was a fun movie with a great super villain. I also liked Serial Mom (white shoes after Labor Day?!?). This looks pretty bad, but it just may be funny enough. Not sure I’ll see it in a theater, I’ll probably wait to see it on dvd.
That lead actor looks so annoying. But the blowfish part was kinda funny… Is the judge the villain at the end?

Enrico – there were two actors who played Jimmy Olsen in “Lois and Clark” – the original actor, Michael Landes, and his replacement, Justin Whalin, who is the star of this movie. According to Landes, he was dropped because he “looked too similar to Dean Cain.” I know how unfair it is when I get passed over because of my striking resemblance to Dean Cain!
I know I won’t see this movie (because I don’t see any movies) but it doesn’t look all THAT bad.
And Landes was so much cuter than Whalen.
Ooooh. I was looking for an actor named Jimmy Olsen, not a character. Thanks for the clarification Jere. And I do see a Dean Cain resemblance there…

I do like they used Ed Gruberman from “Boot to the Head” fame (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_Y6231uAmo&feature=related) Ahhh, good ol’ Canadian comedy.
John: I agree, Sky High was a fun movie (I am a sucker for Disney movies)
David: Landes is WAY cuter than Whalen, and I loved him in Specal Unit 2, the show was crap, but his caracter was lots of fun (the interaction between him and the gnome was hilarious!)
Landes and Whalen seem to be totally different types. I do think Whalen looks were a better fit for the Jimmy Olson character. I always thought Landes was too mature to play Jimmy to Cain’s Superman.
Of course there had to be a stereotypical gay “Super Caper”.
And the trailer made me realize how much I’m going to miss Don LaFontaine. I’m not sure if that was his voice, but it was close enough. Future movie trailers will never be the same.

I can’t wait to go see this movie. Any time a spoof movie gets bad reviews, I usually love it!
