I have nothing new or exciting to report today, so we’re going to take a little poll instead, which is comprised of the following two questions:
1. If you could only have one non-alcoholic beverage and one alcoholic beverage for the rest of your life, which would they be?
2. If you could only have one beverage for the rest of your life non-alcoholic OR alcoholic, which would it be?
Note: Your alcoholic beverage can be any alcoholic beverage, and consist of more than one mixers/alcohols.
My answers would be: 1. Tropicana Low Acid Orange Juice and Yuengling Lager. 2. Snapple Lemonade Iced Tea.
As much as I love Gin & Tonics, I would need to pick a beer because Gin & Tonics would be a bit too strong to be my only alcoholic beverage for the rest of my life, and it isn’t as versatile as beer. As for picking Orange Juice, I just can’t see picking water. I drink water, I enjoy water, but if I drink too much of it I get a belly ache. Low Acid is key though because it’s a lot easier on the stomach, and would still give me the necessary Vitamin C. I picked the Snapple Lemonade Iced Tea because that stuff is awesome, and I think it’s not that bad for you, while still being tasty enough to be an after-work treat. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think long and hard (LOL) about having an alcoholic beverage as my answer to question two. Also, I really really really wanted to pick Strawberry Milk because I love that stuff, but I would never want to drink it if I was congested. You gotta factor in these things!
Alright boys! Line up! We got some experimentin’ to do!
Wait, a teaspoon of cinnamon? Pineapple juice? How long before said emission?
John: I think it has to be quite a bit over time. But seriously, do you have to swallow that cinnamon dry? That would be disgusting. Now in cinnamon bun format it would be doable.
Rumor has it that vegetarians taste better. But broccoli is a no-no, opposite effect. I knew that stuff was nasty, yet another strike against it.
Tam: Hurray for twinship! Water certainly does have a taste, and it can vary quite a bit. The reason I like lime in my water is it seems to improve bad tasting water without hurting good tasting water too much (in my opinion).
Green Martini… Hmm… that makes me think of an Appletini. I used to drink those a lot. They can be yummy.
I wonder if we would experience a population decline if semen tasted like chocolate. “Honey, don’t waste that yummyness down there!”
Oh yeah, I always hear that about jugo de piƱa. In senior year of high school, I pretty much only drank pineapple juice and got comments like that all year round. I don’t know if it’s true either.
1. Martini (gin and dry vermouth), the olive is a NECESSITY and Kool Aid
2. The Martini.
1. Red Rockets (cherry vodka, cranberry juice, red bull, and sprite) and chocolate lite silk milk
2. Diet Dr. Pepper
1. Diet Pepsi, Whisky Sour
2. Bloody Cesar (or perhaps a bloody scab which is a bloody mary made with bacon vodka.)
1. Tea, Guinness
2. Tea
Non alcoholic – Irn Bru (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irn_bru) we’re one of the few nations on Earth I think that still have a soft drink that outsells Coke
Alcoholic – I can’t decide whether I’d pick Stella Artois or Whisky.. Too difficult. I like either in different circumstances.
I’d definitely have to pick the Bru overall t hough.
Grogipher: OMG, that stuff is horrid. There is a bottle of Irn Bru sitting on my bookshelf at work. You may be surprised to know there is a trade dispute with Canada about that stuff (almost resolved). I know more about it than any good Canadian girl should. I think its definitely an acquired taste. The Bru we have here has no caffeine in it though, hence the issue.
OMG how can you not love it?
The stuff in the USA doesn’t have the right colouring in it either, because it’s banned by the FDA or whatever they’re called hehe.. Don’t know if it’s the same in Canada? We’re allowed to drink whatever crap like that apparently haha
I was at a big camp this Summer with a few thousand kids – half Scottish and half international guests; the Scots got all the foreign kids hooked on the stuff! Hehe
Jordan: There’s such a thing as bacon vodka?!?! Why am I just hearing about this?!?!
1. Leopolds Gin Martini, slightly dirty, with lemon-marinated olives. Coffee. Sweet, sweet coffee, my one true friend, my only enemy.
2. Mmmmm …. martini …
1.) Iced green tea, and either whiskey and ginger ale or Clipper City beer.
2.) Probably water. Lame? Yes. Essential? Umm, yes.
Although Orangina is tempting, I’d have to go for water and wine and then just water. Beer would get boring after a while and anything stronger would mean I’d spend my life completely pissed all the time (wait a moment, let’s reconsider). It helps that our water here in Navarra is mountain spring fresh and the wine can’t be beat. I also have to say that Irn-Bru IS a wonderful invention.
1. Orange Juice with extra pulp and Vodka / Coke. I could always mix the vodka with the OJ if need be (or is that not allowed on this island?)
2. Water. Water might suck in the long term and Patty on Ab Fab may have been able to survive on alcohol and without solid food for decades, but I am not willing to take that route.
1) Root Beer Schnapps and Milk.
2) Skim Milk.
I do like my cow juice
