wow! your sister is so funny… and good looking! no wonder you want to be like her. too bad you can’t steal her feet so you too could win a nicest foot contest!!

::sigh:: Amanda Amanda Amanda… When are you going to learn the inevitability of failure at humor when your brother’s around? Instead of retaliating by hijacking one of *his* jokes — because, let’s face it, that likely won’t end well for you — a better tact to get one up on your brother is to hijack the comment thread instead. Start talking about Brittany, Torchwood, or simply start vomiting palindromes… ;-)

Craig: This actually made me literally laugh out loud. The few office mates that are here — well, okay, they’re not technically *mates* because there’s some flimsy policy against mating in the office — looked over at me quizzically (and with a bit of disdain)…

Hilarious, Craig. This strip is one of my favorites. :-)

(Oh, and, Amanda — little secret — they’ve always liked Craig best.) :-)

Poor Amanda, she is the Meg of your family.

  4. Tam on March 23, 2009 at 7:34 am

Funny. Amanda needs to step up her game a bit. I’m sure there is some humor gene she just needs to activate.

  5. Craig on March 23, 2009 at 7:45 am

Actually, me being funny is an act so rare that it used to get written on the calendar growing up.

    “OMG! Craig said something funny!”

“No way! Write it on the calendar!”

    We have a bizarre family.

  6. Kim on March 23, 2009 at 7:56 am

Either your artistic skills are amazing or your family is starting to look like cartoons-the resemblance is fascinating. Poor Amanda-she could write a book.

  7. Adam on March 23, 2009 at 8:02 am

Let’s face it… The McAnally Family member with the best sense of humor left Long Island 17 years ago and was not available to comment on said crab grass.

  8. Nicole on March 23, 2009 at 8:37 am

This is too funny, and it happens to me all too often…

  9. Polt on March 23, 2009 at 9:36 am

I think it is SO cool that your parents use Internet abbreviations in their everyday conversation! I think it would be awesome to hear MY mother say LOL or OMG. I just bet that has you ROTFLYAO all the time!!!!

    HUGS…

  10. Dave S. on March 23, 2009 at 9:45 am

Adam: Oo…Suh-lay-um! And the ball goes careening back at Craig! Will he duck? Dodge? Slam it back??

  11. sam on March 23, 2009 at 9:55 am

    that made me lol.

  12. Mark on March 23, 2009 at 11:03 am

At least Craig’s Dad didn’y say “Craig, can I talk to you in the kitchen”.

I guess you had to see the new Family Guy last night to get that comment.

  13. Xi_Heather on March 23, 2009 at 11:34 am

Poor Amanda. She tells a joke, she gets overshadowed by Craig. She has a little too much wine and her dinner conversation with the waiter becomes a bit of a joke, and it gets plastered all over the internet by that very same Craig.

I hope you get her a good present for her birthday.

(Don’t, however, interpret this as a request to stop telling stories like this….)

  14. john on March 23, 2009 at 11:44 am

Mark: Totally! That’s why I said Amanda is the Meg of the McAnally family.

  15. Craig on March 23, 2009 at 11:54 am

Dave S: I’ll do what I always do: Hide behind the fat kid. Speaking of dodging, you better watch out. Amanda might jump through the computer and strangle you for “When are you going to learn the inevitability of failure at humor when your brother’s around?”

Mark: LOL @ “Craig, can I talk to you in the kitchen”

Heather: Don’t worry. She loves it!

  16. Enrico?! on March 23, 2009 at 12:19 pm

Hurray. I love when cartoons have awkward silences (repeated images).
But yeah, I didn’t really understand the joke anyway…

  17. Mark on March 23, 2009 at 12:21 pm

John: I think I hijacked your comment. Ooops! :-)

  18. john on March 23, 2009 at 12:29 pm

Mark: Not at all! I thought your comment was better anyway.

  19. Dave S. on March 23, 2009 at 1:35 pm

john: You should’ve just typed: “grumble grumble…”

    lol

  20. john on March 23, 2009 at 2:06 pm

Dave S.: D’OH! I wish I had thought of that!!

  21. Dave S. on March 23, 2009 at 2:20 pm

john: Hey! I think your joke just got double-hijacked! :-D

  22. john on March 23, 2009 at 2:31 pm

    “grumble grumble…”

  23. Chris D. on March 23, 2009 at 2:37 pm

    Grumble grumble…

Is this a tripple hijack? Actually it may be more of a non-sequitur. ;)

  24. Chris D. on March 23, 2009 at 2:40 pm

Well, I did not see John’s post. So now mine just looks lame. ;)

  25. Polt on March 23, 2009 at 2:56 pm

“he tells a joke, she gets overshadowed by Craig” As tall as Craiggers is and as small as Amanda is, I’m sure she gets overshadowed by him quite a bit.

I suppose making the family height proportionate was too much work? Or maybe that would have made you head be positioned somewhere beyond the top of the space, eh? :)

    HUGS…

  26. Tam on March 23, 2009 at 2:56 pm

My god I am so out of the pop culture loop. Sigh. At least I got the Alaska King Crab grass joke.

  27. Dave S. on March 23, 2009 at 3:18 pm

Tam: Maybe it’s the Canadian thing you got goin’ on… ;-)

  28. Tam on March 23, 2009 at 4:07 pm

Dave: I’m going to start throwing out some Corner Gas-isms that only I will get. Yeah. I’ll do that. And no one can hijack my jokes, well except maybe Scottie C. if he’s around. Of course I’ll be laughing alone. ::sighs in despair::

  29. Polt on March 23, 2009 at 4:15 pm

Oh I LOVE it when I get goin’ on a Canadian thing…. :D

    HUGS…

  30. Tam on March 23, 2009 at 4:22 pm

Polt: I’m sure the Canadians enjoy it too. ;-)

  31. Michelle M. on March 23, 2009 at 5:15 pm

Sibling rivalry is funny. So are you guys : ).

  32. Michelle M. on March 23, 2009 at 10:14 pm

I am the mighty comment killer. Mwahahaha!

  33. Craig on March 23, 2009 at 10:18 pm

Away with you she-devil! Thine comment section hath suffered enough!

    :-P
