The San Francisco Retreat!

providenceheader2
First The Adirondacks, then Vermont, and then Rhode Island. Tomorrow morning Aaron, Robin and I will be flying out to San Francisco to meet Jenn who’s studying at Berkley! This will be my first time in California (actually this will be my first time west of the Mississippi River) and I’m super excited! I don’t know much about San Francisco outside of what I learned watching Full House and eating Rice-A-Roni, but I suspect we’ll have a great time! I’ll try and Tweet a lot to keep you guys updated, but I’ve also lined up a few guest posts, which you will surely love! See you guys in a few days!

Mel: Oh god, does PA mean what I think it means? It does, doesn’t it. Where’s that Unicorn Chaser?

Polt: I’m going to be singing “GoooooldFINGAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!” for the rest of the day.

  2. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Tam: Aw, somebody needs a hug!

  3. Mark

Polt & John: This is her signature song. She has performed it since the 60′s. But this is one ofmy favorite performances. Yes it is over the top, but so is every performance of a Diva.

  4. My son saw Star Trek last night. He absolutely loved it!

  5. He saw it before me, the little bastard.

    :-P

  6. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Dave S.: How did he do that?

  7. Ryan: It was a special invite-only screening. His best friend’s mom (who I totally have the hots for) got into it somehow.

  8. Tam

John: Yes it does, pass the chaser. Really, doesn’t that HURT? The pay-off must be amazing, it has to be unless pain’s your thing.

  9. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Dave S.: Is his best friend’s mom single?

  10. Tam

    Ryan: Hugs would be good.

  11. Mark

Seriously, I’m trying to keep up. I love you guys but I’m going to give up and just say I luv you guys.

  12. If you see Amy Tan, let me know!!

  13. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Tam: The concept is making me shift uncomfortably in my seat. The process of going from having my eyebrow pierced to not having my eyebrow pierced was bad enough.

  14. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Enrico: At first, I thought you were making a Britney reference.

  15. Tam

Mark: Rest, getter better and come back and join in the hilarity.

  16. Ryan: Divorced, just like me. :-) I think her ex had a crush on me at one point…

  17. Damn…How many conversations are going on right now?!

Enrico: You haven’t commented on my blog entry yet. Just sayin’… ;-)

  18. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Dave S.: Available and capable of getting tickets to special screenings? What’s stopping you?

  19. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Dave S.: You expect us to stay on topic, or even on any topic?

  20. Ryan: I know! I’m kicking myself for not asking her out again! Of course, it would be awkward if we ran into Eddie, Sean, Shawn, Travis, or Phil…

  21. john

Somebody stop the Puntabulous I want to get off.

And, no, not with Craig and his PA.

Tam: No kidding, I so can’t imagine having that done. I mean, I don’t like teeth there, never mind razor sharp piercers. Plus, I can imagine uncomfortable leaking.

Mark: Oh MY! Shirley had some great arms! Now Cupcake isn’t the only one shifting is his seat uncomfortably, but for a different reason….

And speaking of Cupcake, I totally thought Enrico was making a Brittney comment too.

  22. john: I’ll email you back when I get home. :-)

Hey Craig – have fun this weekend! I’m picturing you on Lombard street. Maybe you can buy some Ghiradelli chocolate for you mom (although they sell it everywhere). Just don’t leave your heart there – it belongs to us. Evil cackle.

  24. GoKitty

Invader Zim is great but its no Avatar

  25. Ryan – Lol. Yeah, it did look like it.
Speaking of Britney, SERIOUSLY??? Radar is the 4th single from Circus? I mean, it’s a great song, but it’s a BONUS TRACK that was already on her LAST CD (Blackout)!!!! Grr!!!!

  26. M. Nicodemus

Yay! Craiggers is coming to my neck of the woods! Have a great time, make sure you pack warmer clothes for the evening; it gets breezy on the bay. Oh, and make sure you visit some wineries while you are out here, you don’t have to drive far to find some great mom and pop places.

Tam: I love Zim! I would be too afraid to take that quiz though, I am sure I would be pegged as Dib.

  27. Dave – You haven’t commented on my most recent post either (I think) so…. just kidding. :P
I haven’t been there because I have to click on 17 links to get to the entry… just kidding :P
    I’ll head over now. lol

  28. Tam

Nico: You might be lucky and get Bugs Bunny or Mr. Burns.

John: Facebook told me you took the test but I see you didn’t post the results? Hmmmm. Mickey Mouse?

Michelle: Now I’ve got that song stuck in my head. Thanks, thanks for that.

  29. john

Craig: You h ave telekenesis!?! Luuuucky!

    Dave S.: OK

Michelle M.: The heart comment was awesome! Almost as awesome as you.

Go Kitty; As in the Last Airbender?!?! I *loved* that series and miss it. Toph kicked ass!

  30. Tam

I prefer cartoons like the Roadrunner. Uncomplicated, no big world-building involved. Just hit someone on the head with an anvil and laugh. Those were the days when humor was innocent and charming. Giant springs on your feet? Hilarious. Order a gizmo from Acme? Bust a gut laughing. Ahhh, times were simpler back then.

Hand me my walker someone and help me out of this chair.

  31. Mark

Tam: Do you remember the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs and Daffy kept arguing over whether it was Wabbit season or Duck season? Daffy kept getting shot in the face?

OK, I’m not only old, I’m post operative old :-) . Somebody help me to my rascal, please.

Sorry people, can’t sleep. It’s the meds.

  32. Michelle M.

Tam – I had no idea who Invader Zim is either. I’m sure I prefer Marvin Martian, cause I’m old school, too. I’ve got some extra tennis balls for your walker, by the way.

  33. Tam

Mark: Yes, yes I do. I watch Teletoon Retro at home. Not ashamed to admit it. The Banana Splits are on there people. CLASSIC.

My fave was the chipmunks in the vegetable canning factory. Ahhh. Memories. (Imagine me as an old gray cat warbling in an alley.)

  34. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Tam: I liked the Rescue Rangers.

  35. Mark

And who can forget Duck Dodgers in the 24th and a 1/2 Century!!!!!!

  36. john

OMG!!! And the Rabbit of Seville! Oh and when Bugs meets the monster with no arms and gives him a manicure. Any when he meets Hansel and Grettle (Hansel? Hansel?) And who can forget “I dub thee, the Duke of Wellington, the Duke of Earl”

I LOVE me some cartoons, new and old school.

Mark, I hope your recovery is fast and without complication!

Tam: Tra-la-la-la-la-la-la! Holy Crap I haven’t seen that in years. “Uh-oh, Tongo!”

  37. Tam

Hassenpfeffer? This is like a blast from the past.

    Michelle: I like Marvin too.

Time to go home. Buh-bye for now.

  38. M. Nicodemus

Tam: OMG, the Banana Splits?! I had completely forgot about them! Wow, that’s old school. Now I have Tra-la-la, la-la-la-la, tra-la-la, la-la-la-la stuck in my head!

John: I have a cookie jar of Gossamer (the hairy, orange monster) with Bugs Bunny hiding behind him. Gotta love the classics.

  39. GoKitty

john: Yep, Avatar the last airbender. Such a great cartoon/anime that is great for kids and for adults. I would love to get a group of 4 to dress like the gang for halloween… complete with arrowhead and hairloopies.

  40. “I was saying to my friends just the other day, MONsters must lead such INteresting lives. They must do such INteresteing things, and meet such INteresting people. Now, let’s put our piddies in the water…”

I love Bugs and the monster…never knew it’s name was Gossamer…

    HUGS…

  41. Michelle M.

    Polt/john/M. Nicky:
    You’re soaking in it. hahaha.

    Rabbit Season!

  42. Mark

Polt: LMAO, but really gotta go. Love you guys and really wanna stay here but I gotta sleep.

  43. I’ve never seen a full episode of the Banana Splits but it was the FAVORITE song of our older son for a while about six years ago, so we would play it nonstop in the car for an hour at a time. I get all nostalgic now when I hear it.

Have loads of fun in San Francisco Craig!

  44. john

    Michelle M.: DUCK Season!

    M. Nicodemus: I am so glad you remembered Gossamer’s name! I couldn’t remember it for the life of me and didn’t have time to wiki it.

GoKitty: If you do Airbender Halloween, we need pictures. I want to see hair loopies. Loved that show, though I thought the end was a little rushed.

Polt: That is the exact quote that was going through my head!

OK, I have to say it. I love you guys!

  45. M. Nicodemus

John: I must agree, I love you guys! I have really missed Puntabulous comments over the past month, in retrospect it was really dumb to stop commenting in the first place.

    Wabbit Season!

  46. Tam

Nico: You’re right that was dumb but you’re a boy so I’ll let it go. ;-) As long as you’ve come to your senses and come back to us. (I’m so mean, sorry. Love you.)

    DUCK Season!

This is my smiley day thread. Hope you are at home packing your bags Craig.

  47. Tam

    Mark: Sleep! Get better!

  48. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Tam: Telekinesis is probably a great help in packing when you aren’t busy killing people with it.

    I got monkies in me!

  49. Tam

Guess I’m going to have to start watching Zim on YouTube.

What about the coyote and sheep dog. Its on right now. I have to confess I’ve always cheered for the underdog. I WANT the coyote to get a sheep for dinner? Tweety was annoying, I was always cheering for Sylvester. That bird had attitude.

  50. Packing, schmaking! I didn’t finish packing until twenty minutes before we left! :)

    Mark: get some sleep!

    WABBIT season!

    HUGS…
