Okay so my friends Meg and Rachel are writing a book called The Happy Book, and it’s all about what makes people happy. It will be an interactive space for readers to write, list, doodle, paste, and so on about what makes them happy. As part of this, there will also be several lists throughout the book that feature handwritten compilations of one-liners from people they know, listing one random thing that makes them happy. I happily (naturally) submitted what makes me happy and it landed on the cover. Check it out!

Click to enlarge! The book will be published by Sourcebooks in November 2009, and I’ll be sure to let you guys know when it’s available for preorder, because you obviously need a copy of this!

Oh, lookit you all on the cover and stuff. Never really cared for the M&Ms myself. I do like the mini ones, I think it is the candy shell to chocolate ratio.
I like the cover!
And yeah, that kind of stuff makes me happy (with any candy). I sort them out by color then eat each color so there are always the same amount of each color.
Yay you. On the cover no less. Congrats.
Fun! My entry for what makes me happy would be – Puntabulous. And sleeping in, of course.
Rachel is my cousin, and it makes me happy that she is co-author of The Happy Book. The book cover is so colorful and “happy” all on it’s own. The only thing that would make me happier is Pastry Cream by the gallon.
I tend to eat candy in some order, but the pattern is highly variable.
What’s with all the candy eating OCD?
I just plain old like the idea of a book about what makes people happy. It’s a literary Unicorn Chaser!
I love this idea, especially, if I’m reading it right (dense alert), the space for people to journal their own happy thoughts. This made me smile today, so I guess The Happy Book makes me happy!! (corny alert) *cringing*
i dig the dinosaur creature on the cover with the flower sprouting from its skull.
That’s great! I am really impress… wait… does that turtle have flowers coming out of his butt? Well, butt flowers are good… I guess…
Not to be too cheesey but, what makes me happy is when I hear three little voices yell “DADDY!” when I come home from work, just before I am dog-piled by three laughing, wriggling, little bodies.
Why does M&Ms have an apostrophe? It’s just a plural noun….
Typo on the cover?! Blasphemous.
