The Starship Puntabulous

Welcome aboard the Starship Puntabulous! Its continuing mission, to seek out new life and sexy civilizations. Feel free to take a look around the ship. Some of the faces may look familiar, and hopefully they do because they’re all you guys. Each character in the panels below is specifically modeled after frequent readers and commenters. There’s a key at the end if you need help telling who is who, or maybe even help finding yourself, because I’m not that great of an artist, and there aren’t too many ways to distinguish a guy with brown hair using MSPaint. I got as many of you as I could. Sorry if I left anyone out!

John: Reading that sentence a few times gave me a headache. And I bet you know exactly the sound “that” makes. :)

  2. john

    Pau’l: What is your avatar?

  3. Tam

You guys are so making my crappy day better. :-D

Gotta run though, bazillion things to do tonight.

  4. I dinna ken how Craig did all this fantastic work over the weekend! I look forward to the Puntabulous and her crew as they boldly go…

In the HSC, which of those are real, and which computer generated? Can you program a holodeck to simulate a holodeck? (Forgive me if this was already covered in TNG.)

  5. David from Brazil

ok that made no sense. Anyway, you’re welcome to come order some bread in Brazil. You’re likely to succeed, people love sexy foreigners with an accent. Works even better if you’re rich, but you can get by on pretending too. :)

  6. Isn’t Paul’s avatar from the pilot of TOS? I forget that species’ name….

  7. Paul

A Talosian wearing sunglasses, a peace medallion, and holding a bong

  8. john

David from Brazil: I thought the word for bread was spelled pau, not pao. I should have said that.

As for the waiters’ reactions to me in Brazil, you assume I am sexy. I’m also not rich and can’t really act. I do have an accent though.

  9. David from Brazil

I assume everyone is sexy unless confronted by undeniable evidence in the contrary. Makes for a better Internet experience. :)

  10. john

David from Brazil: In that case, I’m gorgeous!

  11. Hayden

Craig: How the hell did you know what I look like?

  12. The Ryan with the Cupcake

I go to lunch and find another ten responses.

I think that this just shows that we are vain.

  13. Paul

sorry, I look like the business end of a Targ, now figure out what a Targ is and what end is the business end.

  14. This is a fantastic post. What I love is just HOW MANY people there are about the Starship Puntabulous. That’s amazing.

  15. Paul

the opening credits will be 20 minutes long!

  16. Seriously, I just kept scrolling through the comment pages being like “Oh, I have to include [name]! I love them!” And the list just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

  17. Paul

that’s what she said! sorry couoldn’t resist, guess resistance is futile

  18. Don’t Tribbles self-replicate? If I could do that, there’d totally be an Avita-orgy.

  19. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Avitable: Like tribbles, E. coli can be born pregnant.

  20. Paul

I think they were “born pregnant”, but still a nice thought

  21. Oh, is that how it works? I’ve never seen an episode of Star Trek, so I was just guessing. I don’t think I was born pregnant. Unless it’s with a food baby.

  22. Avitable, only you’d come up with that! :) Self love much? :)

Stupid Internet blocker at work, everything was fine until mid-afternoon when they suddenly started blocking Puntabulous altogether. bastards. Musta been the Klingon ridges….

Awesome post! nearly as awesome batch of comments! :)

    HUGS..

  23. The Ryan with the Cupcake

    polt: I blame our teabagging.

  24. Tam

Weren’t the Talosian’s the ones who beat up Kirk and made that girl heal him to see if she could be redeemed? Or do I have them mixed up with someone else?

  25. Hurray! I made the flight crew! Sweet.
And Richard Parker is there to help me out (aka do all the work)!
I knew Dave S., Tam, and Jere right away. Somehow I missed Polt.

  26. M. Nicodemus

    TRWTC: lol!

Paul: Resistance is futile if < 1ohm. Sorry, my inner electrical engineering geek just had to throw that one in :)

  27. M. Nicodemus

Enrico: do you think Richard Parker could use his fabulous designer skills to add some flair to Joemo’s skant? That thing is soo last generation :)

  28. Tam

Nico: Funny and great idea. RP was a designing genius.

  29. The Ryan with the Cupcake

    Joemo needs more lightning bolt.

  30. Michelle M.

Umm – you people do know Polt’s not really a doctor, right? Dr. D. and I just like to humor him. If you really need/want a probe, please see Dr. Richard Parker in Sickbay.

  31. David

Polt is not a real doctor, he just plays (with) one on TV. :)

  32. Tam

Michelle: That’s awful, funny but awful. Damn. John, I need a double dose of that Unicorn Chaser now.

  33. Tam: the Talosians were in the pilot, the ones that capture Captain Pike and put him in a zoo.

Cupcake: It all starts with the teabagging, doesn’t it?

Enrickyricardo: It’s cause I didn’t have my glasses on. :) But seriously, I’m the only freakin’ redhead on the whole starship, how could you miss me?

Nice and Michelle M: Loved both the Richard Parker suggestions, although one of them made me feel a little dirty

David: If only it were true. :)

Craiggers: Hey, how come the female Orion dancer made it onto the poster but the male Orion dancer did not?

    HUGS…

  34. Oh, Richard Parker is the designing genius? I am the one who made it to the finale (which I’m blogging right now… taking a while).

And Ryan w/ the Cupcake is right–it just needs more lightning bolt. Or an Aretha-inspired bow.

  35. Short shameful confession: if it wasn’t for “Pecker”, I’d have no idea what “teabagging” is.

I’ve learned so much from John Waters.

  36. ExAstrisScientia

TwoPi – I loved that movie!
Polt – I love Redheads too!

  37. Haven’t we all, TwoPi? Haven’t we all?

    HUGS…

  38. Michelle M.

I found this quote from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. It probably applies to the USS Puntabulous as well:

Montgomery Scott: [voiceover]: USS Enterprise, shakedown crew’s report. I think this new ship was put together by monkeys. Oh, she’s got a fine engine, but half the doors won’t open, and guess whose job it is to make it right.

  39. Adam (SCG) just pointed out to me that I look thinner than the others…..
Craig! You totally used a female build for me, didn’t you?!?!

  40. The Ryan with the Cupcake

Enrico: I found the message the hacker sent with your Twitter account hilarious because it didn’t fit you at all.

  41. hahahaha Enrico is just a tiny bit thinner than the rest … just like in real life. Craig, this is awesome! Thanks for including me!! :)

  42. Michelle M.

Does Enrico make my butt look big?

  43. Enrickyricardo makes EVERYONE’s butt look big. And their hips, and thighs, and stomach and…well everything. Well, considering his censor bar, probably not EVERYthing…. :)

    HUGS…

  44. Oh, and thank GOD Craiggers didn’t expand our puntabucharacter to match our size!!! Making Enrickyricardo thin, funny! Making Polt life sized…scary. :)

    HUGS…

  45. Enrico: LOL! No, I didn’t use the girl template, but I did make yours a bit thinner. Your’s was the only one I adjusted. :-)

  46. Ray

Ray is very happy to be coherent and standing on two feet, although he’s wondering where the bar compartment is…

    These are fantasmic, Craig!

  47. Amazing! I am totally impressed. Thanks for including me, even though my commenting is not as strong as it used to be. :( I can’t believe how you featured so many people. No wonder your dancing monkeys love you so much. I look forward to new cartoon stories.

BTW: I miss the photo essays featuring you with your “wife”. One of those was the first post I saw when I first found your blog.

  48. I’m very late to the party today, but I’m glad to be in engineering. All the coolest stuff happens down there… as long as I don’t de-evolve into some kind of spider creature like Barclay.

  49. It is still not midnight, so it is not too late to say thank you for the lovely image.Do you think I could get any action if i used that as a profile picture?
