Pomegranate is one of the superfoods. I use the seeds in salads with tomato, walnuts, broccoli sprouts and ground flaxseed (other superfoods). When I eat my supersalad I pretend it’s mashed potatoes and gravy.
Oceanspray makes a delicious cranberry (also a superfood)/pomegranate juice. Add some vodka (not a superfood) for a yummy cocktail.
LOL! They are adorable little bottles and there are eight of them. I love your “yuck” face at 1:50. Oh that’s disgusting, let me try some more. I always forget how deep your voice is.
Oh and you’re right, prune juice isn’t that bad, but it does have a bit of a funky aftertaste.
First things first: What a freaking amazing shirt.
Yeah, I’m with Joe and Vuboq – add vodka, makes it even better.
To be honest I’ve never had Pom Wonderful because its about $6/bottle. Molly? Are you out there? I’ll send you my address. We did buy some blueberry/cranberry/pomegranite juice last week though. Not made by Pom Wonderful. Sorry Molly. When we were in Turkey and were walking through the market you could buy freshly squeezed pomegranite juice. They had machines sort of like the orange juicers you see in stores and they’d just pop in some pomegranites and give you the glass of juice. Pretty sour though and you can get more juice than you think out of one, but probably the reason its so expensive.
Since we’re talking fave juices, when I lived in Poland we used to consume massive quantities of pear juice. It looked like apple juice and here the pear juice we buy is thick. Not my style.
Tam: $6/bottle!? My mind can’t comprehend a beverage costing that much.
I know wine can easily get above that in terms of cost per volume, but I don’t understand that either. I watched an episode of Greek last night that involved $400 per bottle wine, and it boggled my mind. Of course, I couldn’t comprehend paying whatever they paid for a meal either.
Ryan: That’s why I’ve never had it. LOL Its a small bottle two, not a two litre carton. Even if I win the lottery I’m not sure I could justify paying $400 for a bottle of wine. I don’t even like wine but if I did.
Here thanks to high liquor taxes a “cheap” bottle of wine is about $8-$10. A decent bottle is around $15-$20. 750ml of Absolut vodka (just for product reference) is $25. (What is 750 ml called in the US? 24 oz? Something like that.)
John: I love pineapple juice but if I drink too much I get a sore tongue. I like to have my glass of OJ every morning, otherwise I drink mostly water. Its the kid who drinks cranraspberry like its going out of style, but she never has a cold I have to say. All that vitamin C I guess.
If Pomegranate juice and Prune juice are so good, why do they have such gross sounding names?
And when the video ended and you were reaching to turn off the video, you slightly arched your right eyebrow and for some reason I found that very alluring.
Ryan: I’d be an alcoholic if it was that cheap. I’d feel compelled to drink just because its almost cheaper than bottled water. Damn, that’s cheaper than Pom Wonderful. So rather than add a splash of vodka to my Pom, it would be adding a splash of Pom to my big glass of alcohol to keep expenses down.
Ok, finally got around to watching the video and what did I get from it?
1) Science tastes like cranberry juice with a hint of prune juice.
2) This was kinda like a Teach Me Something Thursday with all the pom facts!
3) When Craiggers is done with his 8 bottles, his erections and prostate should be in really good shape.
4) Molly wants Craiggers (but then who doesn’t?)
5) Craiggers still looks good the Canada shirt…even without the wanton look on his face.
Still, even after all this, I don’t believe I’m gonna try Pomegranite juice. Sorry. Not big on juice, and this kind doesn’t really sound like something I’d like anyway.
I can’t watch the video here at work, as Josh would say: superz major bummerz! Generally when I drink juice it has to be thinned out at least 1:1 with either water or alcohol otherwise it’s just too sweet for me.
Joemo: I’ll have one of those!
The Ryan With the Cupcake: I have paid $250 for a bottle of wine before, and I have tasted a $500 bottle once, and while they were both exquisite wines I doubt the majority of people would be able to tell the difference between a $500 wine and a good $25-$40 one (especially if it was immediately preceded by several $10 bottles).
Polt: Too bad he didn’t do a before video to demonstrate 3.
M. Nico.: That’s my impression: beyond a point, only a developed palate can notice the difference and price differences are determined more by scarcity and fashion than quality.
Mark: having never seen Craiggers erection or prostate, I can’t really say what kinda state it’s in. And Cupcake, I SO totally agree with you. before and after videos or pics are ALWAYS helpful!
The Ryan With the Cupcake: As for a meal I have been to a few places where at first glance the prices seemed outragous, but turned out to be worth every penny! If you ever get the oppertunity you HAVE to go to the French Laundry, just be prepared to spend $$$.
I love pomegranate juice! and prune juice isn’t so bad either! It’s so wonderful to see a new puntabulous vid and I’m glad you haven’t gone all corporate on us by selling yourself to that soulless juice company. Did you know that POM kills kittens in order to maintain their pomegranate crop? It’s awful, you can hear more about it in Michael Moore’s new documentary.
M. Nicodermus: Mmm Thomas Keller if only i had the money to eat there :/ alas, the closest I got was Bouchon
Three Olives Pomegranite Vodka is WONDERFUL mixed with sprite, 7up or gingerale . . . some I’m sure Pom Wonderful would go great with some citrus or lemon vodka
1. That’s not the voice I use for you when I read your blog…I’m going to keep the other voice, if it’s not ruined now. While yours is perfectly splendid, it’s not as comical as the one I use.
2. Thanks for the Canada shout out, did you fire of fireworks too?
3. I love POM, but it’s expensive I agree.
I hope this is the first of many free cases of junk sent to your house so we can watch you test it!

Next time, try it with vodka.
Can’t say I’m a fan of the POM products. They’re kind of icky. Glad you liked it though.
Have a great holiday weekend! *smooches*

Pomegranate margaritas are delicious. Now that you’re the new face of POM Wonderful, perhaps you should change your blog name to pomtabulous?
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:29 am
pomtabulous! – good one rjhall!
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:33 am
pomtabulous looks like porntabulous.
And I’m okay with that.
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:53 am
Porntabulous? I’m watching this video in a whole new light. ‘This is why you come to porntabulous – to see me drink juice!’
July 2nd, 2009 at 10:02 am
If this was Porntabulous, i assure I would have commented already. Several times, actually.
HUGS…
July 2nd, 2009 at 10:05 am

July 2nd, 2009 at 10:32 am
rjhall: LOL! @ watching the video in a new light!
July 2nd, 2009 at 10:32 am
All you cute young gay bloggers are getting invited by Pom to try their products. Us moldering old relics have been completely ignored.
And we’re the ones who really need this stuff!
Jealous? Duh!

Tam: I HAD to wear that shirt. It was Canada Day after all!

Lots of cranraspberry gets drunk at our house.
July 2nd, 2009 at 11:09 am
Not a huge fan of juice. I do like pineapple juice and apple is ok, but that’s about it. I loved orange juice as a kid, but now I find it too acidic.
July 2nd, 2009 at 11:09 am

I love that your pinky finger is up as your pour the juice.
July 2nd, 2009 at 11:54 am
Tam: We use ml for alcohol as well. The 750 ml bottle of Skyy was about $12-13 when I was at the store last week.

Polt: In number 3 you make it sound as though they aren’t already in stupendous shape.
July 2nd, 2009 at 1:07 pm

You’re brilliant.

On second thought, a stupendous prostate would probably not be a good thing for all of the ladies out there to have.

“Approx. 20,000 pomegranates went into each bottle. Molly will do the fact checking.” HA!
