Random Bits – But Mostly About TV!

1. Last night’s episode of GLEE was another hour of wonderful merriment! I love Kurt. I want to put him in my pocket so he can entertain me throughout the day. The one thing I don’t like about the show is Will’s wife. The whole fake-pregnancy storyline just doesn’t fit in with the rest and needs to go away.

2. It’s always nice to get compliments on the outfit you’re wearing, but then it just means that you can’t wear it for at least double the time of your usual outfit cycle since it probably sticks out in peoples minds more.

3. Ouch! Love the look on the other baby.

4. My parents are going away this weekend. Amanda was supposed to go with them but she bailed and now my Mom is trying to get me to go. She’s bribing me with cheesecake! That’s just evil! But I really really don’t want to. Having the house to myself is too difficult to resist.

5. I’m concerned I snore on the train. I fall asleep and every time I wake up the person who was sitting next to me is gone. Sometimes they’re still on the train but sitting in another seat!

6. Survivor tonight. If Russell makes it much further I’m going to stop watching. Producers think villains are fun to watch but they’re not. Russell just sucks all the fun out of it. He’s Boston Rob and Johnny Fairplay times seven.

7. I’m curious about the movie Pandorum. It looks scary as hell. Could be another Descent where the surroundings and people moments are scarier than the creatures. That would be a good thing by the way, as long as the creatures aren’t silly.

8. I wish I could watch Flash Forward, Vampire Diaries, and even give Fringe another try, but the idiotic TV execs cram all their good shows on Thursday. Share the love people!

9. Oh, and I totally called it that they would play the song Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship featuring Leighton Meester on Gossip Girl! Okay, maybe I didn’t call it on here, but in an email to a friend!

10. For all you Toph lovers out there, I’ve been introduced to her in last night’s episode of Avatar.

Maybe you don’t snore, maybe you talk in your sleep and say terribly inoffensive things about Natalie Portman. I’d get up and move if some guy was saying creepy things about Natalie Portman in his sleep..

  2. Will on September 24, 2009 at 8:25 am

Or, maybe you were just gassy. ;)

  3. Trish Baker on September 24, 2009 at 8:29 am

Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship featuring Leighton Meester on Gossip Girl! — This is another hot shit!! Loveth.

  4. Dave S. on September 24, 2009 at 8:33 am

    1. I need to catch up on GLEE! :(
    2. I know! Now that I’m actually dating, I’m running out of clothes to wear. And not only that, but you have to think to yourself “Damn, did I wear this last time? What *did* I wear last time? Am I going to show up in the same thing that I wore last time? I can’t remember! Maybe I’ll cancel just to be safe…”
    3. Good lord, that poor vagina…
    4. I usually hate having the house to myself. Maybe if it was smaller it wouldn’t be such a big deal, but when it’s a mom weekend, I just kind of lay around wishing my kids were around…
    5. Are you sure it’s snoring… ;)
    6. When did Survivor start up again?!
    7. Pandorum *does* look good. Love claustrophobic films!
    8. FlashForward looks excellent, but I can’t possibly fit in any more TV-watching. :(
    9. Suuure you did… lol
    10. Not a big fan of Anime-style shows, so I’ve never seen Avatar.

  5. Dave S. on September 24, 2009 at 8:45 am

Absolutely *loved* Cougar Town last night!

  6. john on September 24, 2009 at 9:14 am

    1. Last night’s GLEE was fantastic! The opening killed me and Kurt is easily one of the funniest characters on the show. Tina proved that she really can sing, but Rachel is the true vocal talent on that show. She is amazing!
    2. I know what you mean, I wore a new shirt last week that got rave reviews and some actually made me a little uncomfortable. A little too much gushing from one lady in the office.
    3. I really hope that woman had a caesarian.
    4. I love having the house to myself and living alone was enjoyable.
    5. Meh, if you snore, you snore. Big deal. Could be worse, you could be an a55hole.
    6. Don’t watch Survivor. Never have, never will.
    7. Pandorum…it stars Dennis Quaid. I’m not sure there will be quality there.
    8. Too much TV. I’m already watching GLEE, The Big Bang Theory and Heroes. That’s enough for me.
    9. I have nothing I can add to this discussion.
    10. YAY!!! It is about time you got to season 2. I have soooo much love for Toph and Sokka really comes into his own this season.

Dave S.: Avatar is really well done and isn’t really anime at all. It’s definitely worth a watch. Oh, and in your case, you could go shirtless to your date and I really don’t think there would be a problem. You might get a little chilly, but is that really so bad?

  7. Kimi on September 24, 2009 at 9:32 am

#2 is so true and #5 made me laugh! Don’t you have some kind of high tech device you could use to record yourself? I admire people who can fall asleep anywhere like that. But be wary. Did you know there is a whole subculture of people who like to photograph people sleeping in public then publish it on the interwebs?

  8. Tam on September 24, 2009 at 9:45 am

    Since we’re commenting numerically.

    1. Loved Glee. Very touching although the fake pregnancy thing is getting a bit stupid.
    2. True, now you have to go and buy more clothes.
    3. That child was 8700 grams, my daughter was 3300 when she was born. Ack. Amost 3 times the size. I’m assuming c-section, I’m hoping.
    4. I like being home alone, although with pets you are never truly alone.
    5. I have an intense fear of falling alseep on public transport. What if you miss your stop? Maybe you were drooling.
    6. Never seen a single of episode of survivor and proud of it.
    7. If it’s scary I’m not interested.
    8. Umm, not interested. Vampires are so over. When are shifters going to make a comeback?
    9. and 10. Huh?

  9. Skippy on September 24, 2009 at 10:06 am

    1) Glee was dvr-ed, so I have not watched it yet. Can’t wait
    5) Maybe you inappropriately touched yourself….or them?
5a) So a long story short…I used to take a commuter bus from the burbs to work, and I fell asleep and actually missed my stop (well, when I woke up we were sitting at the stoplight leaving the lot, and since I was too embarrassed to say anything, I let them take me to the next stop and called someone to pick me up)
    6) I just said the EXACT thing to a couple people yesterday.
    8) I have actually had to DVR things on our TV in the family room AND our TV in the bedroom due to all of the shows crammed on Thursday. Go figure.

  10. David on September 24, 2009 at 10:49 am

    1. Still haven’t watched an episode.
    2. People aren’t THAT focused on you. And I mean that in a nice way. Wear it again in two weeks. It will be fine. Or blend elements of it to create other winning outfits.
    3. “I want another bottle NOW or I eat this kid!!!”
    4. Cheesecake or unfettered access to internet-related media. Your call.
    5. You don’t snore, you drool.
    6. I used to be such a Survivor-head. I didn’t even realize it had started up again.
    7. No thanks.
    8. Ye Gods.
    9. You’ve just completely lost me, here.
    10. Was she nice?

  11. Hayden on September 24, 2009 at 11:22 am

Loving Glee, and last night was awesome with that Beyonce influenced dance!

  12. M. Nicodemus on September 24, 2009 at 11:36 am

I still haven’t watched any of the glee episodes I have on my DVR (or Supernatural, or Project Runway) but at least I have managed to watch Big Bang Theory and SYTYCD (bow-tie boy was cute, but I didn’t think he was good enough to go straight to Vegas, just so you know)

Resist the Cheesecake! A few minutes of bliss vs. an entire weekend without the need of clothes and unlimited access to the TV, ’nuff said.

Yay Toph! As an aside, if you were to be a Bender, which element would you want to be? Personally I want to be a water bender.

Dave S.: I thought about watching Cougar Town, but I already have too many shows to keep up with!

  13. GoKitty on September 24, 2009 at 11:40 am

    1) I luv Kurt too and he gets the good storylines! Twice I yelled out “Omg, I have that” when I saw Kurt’s stuff.

    6) I can’t stand Russel. I dont mind a villain but he is so annoying that I want him gone immediately.

    8) I really dont like Vampire Diaries. I dont think its really entertaining and the vamps aren’t even cute. Ian Somerhalder looks like he’s wearing a toupee.

    10) I didnt start liking Toph till later in the season. She was annoying at first. Tell us when you get to the Appa episode? :}

  14. M. Nicodemus on September 24, 2009 at 11:59 am

GoKitty: Yeah, Toph does start out a bit harsh and annoying, but that is also part of what I love about the caracter. Her caracter has more depth than the others (excluding Zuko), I loved watching her grow as a person.

  15. Enrico on September 24, 2009 at 12:04 pm

I was NOT feeling Glee last week, but everyone says it got back to being good last night. I hope so!

And I like villains. Best part of season 1 of Project Runway (other than Austin Scarlett) = WENDY PEPPER! Loved her!

My friend just won a contest and will be featured in the next Cobra Starship video. (Josh and I will also be in the video, as I will FORCE her to wear a pin with our faces on it!)

  16. john on September 24, 2009 at 12:13 pm

    M. Nico: I agree about bow tie boy. Entertaining, but I’m not sure he has the chops, the wife thought the same. Said while out of the room when he was given a ticket to Vegas: “What did they do? Oh your kidding.” And YAY! Big Bang Theory! Love that show!

I agree with you and GoKitty about Toph’s initial personality, but she was such a stark contrast that I really felt it evened out the characters. I’d go with water bending as well, but my second choice would be air. Water seems more versatile.

GoKitty: So, do you have a black unitard that wicks moisture away from the skin? If Russel is the guy Puck with the mowhawk, then I agree. Plus I hate that haircut.

  17. Craig on September 24, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Puck and Kurt are totally gonna get together.

I’d want to be an airbender. It isn’t as great fighting wise, but the ability to fly is just too much to resist. Water would be the best for fighting. Earth is cool, but so far it’s just very clunky and harsh. And fire is EVIL!

  18. john on September 24, 2009 at 1:25 pm

I almost said air for that very reason.

  19. john on September 24, 2009 at 1:26 pm

Oh, and fire isn’t evil, its just misunderstood.

  20. Mark on September 24, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Tam: Your response to # 5.. “I have an intense fear of falling alseep on public transport. What if you miss your stop?”.. reminds me of a certain someone who actually slept (passed out) through their stop. The name escapes me at the moment. ;-)

  21. Javi on September 24, 2009 at 1:47 pm

Yea I didn’t like Toph at first but she is pretty bad ass. I think I would want to be an earth bender or a fire bender (muahahaha).

  22. Tam on September 24, 2009 at 1:57 pm

Mark: I’d be afraid I’d end up back at the bus garage or the place where they store trains for the night and the cleaning staff would find me. How embarrassing would THAT be? LOL

  23. GoKitty on September 24, 2009 at 3:45 pm

No, Kurt had some cute argyle socks that I also have and he uses the Evian moisture mist spray too.

I’d want to be an Earthbender. I know all the gays want to be airbenders and probably all the lesbians want to be earthbenders but ohwell.

  24. GoKitty on September 24, 2009 at 3:47 pm

oh, has anyone recommended Absolutely Fabulous yet for Craig? With all the guh-guh-gays in here, I can’t see how that would be missed.

  25. M. Nicodemus on September 24, 2009 at 3:57 pm

Craig & John: I almost went with Air just for the flying too, but I figured that I was suited to water based on personality (air: defensive, flexable; Earth: proud, persistant; Water: fluid, adaptable; fire: willful, forceful) I am more of a “go with the flow” kinda guy :)

  26. Paul on September 24, 2009 at 4:04 pm

I am suprised that there is not comment about Heroes, guess if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing.
As for your action on the train, perhaps you should do a search in Youtube and see if anyone has posted a video of you.

  27. Michelle M. on September 24, 2009 at 4:20 pm

    1) I hope they repeat it. Our recording kept cutting in and out.
    5) Maybe you talk in your sleep?
    6) Survivor started? Poop! Oh well.
    7) I hope it’s good. john – he was good in The Big Easy.
    8) I’m still watching The Vampire Diaries. The jury is still out on that one.

  28. Mark on September 24, 2009 at 4:22 pm

Tam: I finally found the story I was talking about. Let’s all take a trip down memory lane, shall we… CLICK HERE

  29. Mel on September 24, 2009 at 4:52 pm

I should get caught up on “Glee”. Tonight, though, is the season premiere of CSI. Hoping my cousin Liz gets some good screen time.

Craig: Maybe you should take along a digital recorder on the train and see if you can determine exactly what it is you do in your sleep. On the other hand, is it necessarily a bad thing if people are giving you space?

  30. Adam on September 24, 2009 at 5:29 pm

To me it seems like the Earth Benders kick the most ass. The Dai Li, King Bumi (Craig, you’ll get to these guys later in season 2) and Toph are just amazingly powerful and it seems like they can make use of their bending in just about any situation they are put into.

  31. Adam on September 24, 2009 at 5:32 pm

Sorry Craig, just remembered that if you have met Toph then you already met King Bumi. But you have not met the Dai Li yet and they are pretty cool. Season 3 is in the mail heading you way.

  32. Tam on September 24, 2009 at 5:41 pm

Brilliant Mark, I didn’t remember that. How embarrassing. (Hilarious from my point of view of course.)

  33. josh on September 24, 2009 at 8:06 pm

I lurrrve the whole Cobra Starship CD! I have their other two as well. Hurray! And funny how no one else seems to know what it is except for Enricoz. PS, Keep the house to urself and have a PuntaPARTY feat. singing stripperz aka me.

  34. Kimi on September 24, 2009 at 8:20 pm

Tam, on my first day of kindergarten I fell asleep on the bus on the way home. The driver found me when he parked at the bus depot and was checking the bus for trash. My older brother walked home from the bus stop without me and when mom asked where I was he was like “Who?????”

  35. john on September 24, 2009 at 8:41 pm

Kimi: That is both funny and horrible!

Adam: You make a really good point about earth benders. Not only are they powerful, but have access to earth in most places.

I find it a little inconsistent that fire benders can generate fire, but water benders can’t (unless they pee or sweat of course). There are other things too, but I won’t mention that as it might be a bit of a spoiler for Craig.

    M. Nico: I’m not necessarily “go with the flow”, but I’m not stubborn or hot headed either. I am super patient, which is why I picked water and air.

  36. Dave S. on September 25, 2009 at 9:30 am

Craig: Oh no! By the sound of your tweet, you’re going off with your parents, aren’t you? :P

  37. Craig on September 25, 2009 at 10:45 am

Yup. After a series of ludicrous events, I’m going. And I’m pissed.

  38. Dave S. on September 25, 2009 at 10:58 am

Well, at least it wasn’t a series of Ludacris events, because that could get *really* ugly…

What’s forcing you to go when you don’t want to?

  39. M. Nicodemus on September 25, 2009 at 10:59 am

Well, I have to admit, cheesecake is hard to resist. I hope your weekend turns out better than you think. :)

  40. Craig on September 25, 2009 at 11:01 am

The details of the situation are oddly complex and I don’t feel like getting into them now.

I plan on burying my face in the cheesecake and not sharing it with anyone.

  41. john on September 25, 2009 at 11:13 am

Craig: I’m wearing black in support! (well, not really, but I am wearing black today). I also have fallen victim to parental obligation, it sucks being the youngest and the good son.
Not a huge fan of the cheese cake.

Dave S.: The only thing worse than Ludacris events would be Kanye events, because on top of ugly, it would be rude and obnoxious.

  42. Tam on September 25, 2009 at 12:02 pm

I have cheesecake in my lunch today. :-)

Kimi: That happened here last year where a kid didn’t get off the bus, the parents freaked and they found him in the parking garage sound asleep on the bus. Needless to say it hit the news, unlike when you were a kid and probably just ended in punishment for your brother. LOL

  43. josh on September 25, 2009 at 1:42 pm

Hey! Someone buy me torte de queso!

  44. john on September 25, 2009 at 1:49 pm

    Oh Josh, you’re cheesy enough.

  45. Cincinnati NAMjA on September 25, 2009 at 6:36 pm

Man….I am soo bummed missed this week’s episode of Glee…I won’t make the same mistake twice.

  46. Ray on September 27, 2009 at 4:52 pm

Good God, last night on SNL when Seth Meyers mentioned that woman had a 19 pound baby he said, “My question is, ‘A baby what?’” I nearly PEED!! Too funny…luckily I didn’t pee…seriously though, that baby is scary.

On a side note, Megan Fox didn’t even try to play against character…
