This lovely bit of mail scared the bejesus out of my Mom came in the mail today from Ryan with a Cupcake. There’s a reason why I call you people my dancing monkeys!

It wasn’t even ripe when he mailed it from California on Saturday. I am flabbergasted that the post office actually delivered it and it got to my house in one piece! It may be a little worse for wear, but it’s pretty damn cool that it made it all the way across the country!
And then Bob from Kentucky sent me the new Star Trek DVD for my birthday. All in all, it was a pretty great mail day for Craig!
Great mail day for Craiggers, another day of head shaking bewilderment for Craiggers’ mailman.
HUGS…
i would say i’m totally jealous. but i’m totally not. (ok, maybe a little jealous of the DVD).
*smooches*
Ha! How cool is this?! you should totally have a “Send Me Something Weird” contest!
Silly! I lurrrve dat! Bananaz are derriciouz and always remind me of Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest & Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble (aka my childhood)! YAY!
I am also amazed that the post office accepted it. I’m even more amazed they could deliver it. It looks hard to read the address. I guess it made it to Craig’s town before it darkened. From there I am sure the mail person knew exactly where to send it, since Craig is the famous Dancing Monkey Lord.
So how did it taste?
Awesome mail day!
I’m still stunned they delivered it. You’d think they would proclaim it a terrorist plot and blow it up somewhere, or at least some hungry postal worker would have had it for a snack. It’s just too funny.
Ryan is wonderful. And weird.
I like Adam’s idea.
I was inspired by this.
Apparently, at least one mailman doesn’t mind.
Michelle M.: I’m thinking of making banana bread out of the remaining siblings.
The only comestible(s) I’ve ever sent through the mail was one of those Omaha Steak things to my brother. He lived in Nebraska at the time.
Glad you got Star Trek! It’s my favorite movie of 2009. So far.
if i remember correctly, Wired magazine has a monthly photo of weird objects sent through the mail.
lol, if I mailed you a pic of me in the paper dress I wore today, what kind of mail day would that be?
On the first day of Christmas a monkey sent to me,
A banana all brown and mushy.
The surprising thing about the post office is that it’ll pretty much deliver anything so long as it has an address, proper postage and isn’t a hazardous material. So a banana can be sent, and it’s already in it’s own protective envelope.
Kiddie Kong! Dixie Kong! Diddy Kong! YAY!
That’s extremely cool that it came through the mail.
Hopefully today!
I’m jealous that you already got the Star Trek DVD! I pre-ordered the blu ray from Amazon six months ago when it was still in the theatre and it hasn’t come yet!
Michelle M.: You are too funny and cute!
Cupcake: Awesome idea!
I, like Chris D. was surprised they could read the address, but I guess Craig’s mailperson is just that good.
“You should totally have a “Send Me Something Weird” contest!”
As long as things are sent in boxes and have return addresses.
Mom’s heart can’t take too much randomness. She’s already jealous of all the fun mail I get.
Oh, and the funny thing is, we have a terrible mail lady. She always messes stuff up! Yet not the banana.
This is too funny! Cupcake, you are awesome
Oh, and thanks for the link to My Life is Average; that is a totally fun site.
Tam: I love Canada even more now
I like the tea set story and the Nestle Crunch company story on My Life is Average.
I am going to make banana bread today.
Ok, I just Mystery Googled “Christmas present for my wife” and I got the phone number of an 18 year old guy in NC. I think I will go with a new iPod instead.
Nico: Too funny. We do love big hairy beasts up here.
Hey did you get my name in the blogger Christmas exchange? Maybe that would work for me (or whoever you got).
That is hilarious!!!! Who knew you could send a banana through the mail? Makes me wonder what I could try……
LOVE: http://xkcd.com/664/
I asked Mystery Google who Craig loves. Apparently, Pacman.
So true!
This picture is now the top result for “mail banana” on Google Images. I feel like I have changed the world.
OMG that is awesome! Well done!
