Look how young and stylish they were! Who knew?!

There’s one of my folks when I was a young tot. My dad had sideburns and was wearing a pink polyester double knit suit that my mom made for him. I think she may have made the little A-line dress she was wearing, too.
Groovy. Your Mom seems have a very small head but she new how to work volume in the hair.
Your dad’s handsomeness is only matched by your mom’s hottness! The are a very nice looking couple.
I want your Dad’s coat.
I think john and vuboq’s comments covered both extremes of the Kinsey scale.
Tam: Mom was way skinny back in the day. I mean, always has and always will be super skinny! (Is she looking?)
Who do you think you take after?
I think Craig should try rocking an awesome ‘stache like the one his father has going on. Maybe not the creepy park flasher coat VUBOQ seems to like.
Is your Dad growing a Zappa in that photo? Or is that a smudge below his lips?
Love Mom’s hair, she was really workin’ the Aqua Net, and dad’s stach reminds me of Stewie, when he had his stach:
“I like it ’cause it’s just above my lip. The kind of mustache that says, “Yeah, I’ve been nude on camera, what of it?”
I like the matching coats — it reminds me of that JCPenny catalogue from the 70s. [Whoa, in looking for the link I just discovered a Part II and Part III!]
[Whoops -- that first link should be http://15minutelunch.blogspot.com/2007/10/strap-in-shut-up-and-hold-on-were-going.html
I think that’s just a shadow below his lip. As he got older though, that mustache could rival Tom Selleck’s!
I, on the other hand, cannot grow a mustache to save my life.
I think I have a lot of both my parents in me. Dad is the dorkier of the two who gave me my love of science fiction, but I think I have my Mom’s sense of humor and personality.
Your mom and dad look far out, man.
I see that “young and stylish” runs in the family, eh? You get them both honestly, Craiggers.
Is it wrong that I want Mom’s hair and coat and Dad’s stache? I’d rock that look like no tomorrow!
HUGS…
Glad to be of service, but for reals, very cute couple. Your mom totally looks like a delicate flower and your dad looks rugged and handsome.
I can’t grow a mustache either. I can grow a pretty good beard on my chin, but it gets spotty on my cheeks. I go clean shaven most days though as it is so gray now, it makes my baby face look old.
Wow! They really do make a very hansome couple; your dad is totally rocking the rugged look with the ‘stache and ‘burns and your mom is way hot and fashionable. You obviously come from some great genetic stock.
VUBOQ: You would have yourself an old fashioned ‘last-item-on-the-clearance-rack-during-the-holidays’ throw down over that coat, I WANT!
Damn! What a cute couple of youngsterz! Your dad is a STUD. And your mom’s hair? To. Die. Fo!
Does your papa still have that coat and can I have it?!
Xi_Heather: Thanks for those, I had only seen the first one before. Parts II and III were awesome!
Xi_Heather: Is that little blond kid in part 1 Rick(y) Schroeder?
I will join the chorus in admiring your father’s coat. It looks very warm, perfect for a cold winter day like today. That would be my winter coat style (I would want a light and dark one). Then for warmer weather I would want a lighter weight long coat (feat. puffy shirt and vest) like Charie in the movie Star Dust (
http://www.collider.com/uploads/imageGallery/Stardust/stardust_movie_image_charlie_cox__claire_danes.jpg ) (once again in a dark and light version).
They do look like a cute couple. Your mother seems quite tall. No wonder you are the towering giant of a many you are.
John: When do we get to see your baby face in person? I.E. When are you joining us for an NJ blogger meet-up in Princeton!?!? I wonder if we could even get Craig to come! Heck, he drives to Pennsylvania for football, maybe he would drive ( or take the train) to Princeton for a meet-up.
“giant of a many” = “giant of a man”. Drat. Why do I proof read AFTER I post!!!
Your pops reminds me of Jude Law in Cold Mountain!
As I said via Twitter, Craig, your dad was a very handsome guy. And as I said in twitter, it takes a **LOT** for me to say that about a man in a 70′s-style moustache. As I’ve said elsewhere on this blog, almost everything about the 70s makes me nauseous
It’s obvious where you get your looks
LOLz on the “Kinsey scale” comment. I’m with Jere on the coat, though. Again. 70s. They were good at “creepy-looking coats” in the 70s.
Polt. You are so unkind to my mind’s eye. Nonetheless you did get a LOLIRL out of me for that one
Chris: if there’s going to be a Princeton meet-up I want to know about it. My college-best-friend/former-roomate lives in Princeton now and he’s always trying to get me to come down there for a visit ever since they left Boston.
I’d love to have yet another other excuse
Enrico — you’re right! But Craig’s dad is better-looking
Oh, man. Just followed Xi_Heather’s links. It’s not fair!! SOME OF US had to LIVE through that decade! *desperately searches for pepto bismol*
Justin: Pepto?! If you find some… be sure to share!!!
I think I’m going to need a gallon or so of pepto after that 70s catalog flash-back. I’m sure I can spare you a taste
I’d have a Pennsylvania Puntabublogger getogether…but actually, I’m having one right now, in my living room, alone. So that kinda defeats the purpose of a ‘big deal’ one.
HUGS…
John, I think everyone wanted to be Ricky Schroeder [I think anyone who watched Silver Spoons in the original is allowed to keep the "y".]
And Justin, I was young but remember that decade. The brown Hawaiian shirt with the tan corduroy pants; the shorts worn with knee-high socks…scary times, scary times. [TwoPi has an extended family photo from that decade that I love -- everyone is happy and it's a great photo, but the dozen of them are sporting their brownest clothing.]
Craig, what I like about this photo is that first, they look happy together, and second, thinking back to other photos of your parents (you had one of them playing wii) I can totally see this couple turning into that, and it makes me happy.
I actually really really really like the style haha.
Your dad kind of looked like Josh’s dad back in the day, except with less of a porn-stache.
