I hate looking at my Netflix queue, going down the list and thinking “Crap, crap, crap, double crap. Why did I add these?!” So I need some fresh recommendations. Go!

Easier With Practice
That sounds like a porno I once saw. And even though it isn’t, I added it anyway.
Haha. It is somewhere within that vein but it’s no porno. Hope you enjoy!
I want to know precisely what Craig is finding ISN’T “easier with practice”
And btw I recommend Nochnoi Dozor (“Night Watch”), Sunshine, and Moon.
Night Watch is there already (and has been for a while) but I really don’t know much about it, which I guess is why it still lingers there. And I’ve seen and enjoyed both Sunshine and Moon.
I always say this and you never watch them but I’ll try again:
You should watch some of John Waters early work like Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, and Polyester.
These movies are pure guilty pleasure, horrible acting and cheaply made but just too funny not to give them a chance.
One of the joys of Netflix is that it looks at what you’ve already borrowed and/or watched and makes recommendations for what you should watch next. I’d start there.
Masterpiece Mystery!: Sherlock: Series 1
Super, super fun update by the current show runner of Doctor Who. Plus, the lead actor has the BEST NAME: Benedict Cumberbatch.
Oh right! I forgot I wanted to see the new Sherlock. Thanks Brian!
Also, thanks for nothing Adam. You suck.
Sorry Paul! (I’m just gonna leave it at that.)
“Pheobe in Wonderland”–it’s definitely flawed, but I’m glad I put it on my queue and watched. Felicity Huffman, Patricia Clarkson, and Elle Fanning were all amazing.
I was looking through my rentals, but then I realized that I have to sort out which one’s you recommended to me.
I also discovered that Netflix disabled the community features. I hadn’t used them before, but I figured that they would have been useful here.
Ok, I will keep my mouth shut on this subject. Please keep cheers down to a small roar!
Some recommendations:
Alice
Mystery Team
Patrick Age 1,5
Charlie Bartlett
Changeling
A Patch of Blue
Something the Lord Made
Shelter
The new Sherlock is already available on DVD or for streaming? That’s awesome!!! HIGHLY recommended! It’s brilliant!!
Alice was actually good?
Sherlock was excellent. I recommend Exit Through The Gift Shop, great documentary.

I enjoyed it.
Hey Paul, how could you leave off Desperate Living, I showed it at a party once in high school … explains a lot these days now.
My suggestions, at least from what I’ve seen recently and I happen to have a pile sitting on my desk still (I’m not sure what is or isn’t on DVD atm, so you know, just jot these down somewhere):
Winter’s Bone (You’ll either like or hate this movie, it can go either way.)
Brothers (Same as above)
The Town
Exit Through The Gift Shop
Black Swan
Social Network
Taking Woodstock (Saw that finally a few weeks ago, enjoyed it)
I dunno, see I need to go through the piles of movies on my desk and start watching them, my input would be much more useful.
I enjoyed: The Town, Black Swan, Social Network
I wanted to see Brothers when it was in theaters but missed it. I’ll have to take a look at the others.
What is Exit Through the Gift Shop? And how dare people recommend a documentary to me?!
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movies are excellent if you haven’t seen them.
No I haven’t. What is that dang series even about? I see the books everywhere.
It’s a mystery involving a computer hacker in Sweden. Starts off as a mystery about a murdered girl in the first movie, but in the later films it focus’ more on Dragon Girl’s past and how everything plays into a corrupt government. It’s hard to explain, but it’s a very good series. The movies are LONG though, and if you start one it’s hard to stop, so make sure you don’t start it say at 10 pm
The netflix movies probably stream with subtitles. The blue-rays have dubbing.
An American version of the first is in the works, cause Hollywood has to remake everything nowadays
You see so many movies, I’m pretty sure everything I would recommend you’ve already seen. But how about:
Dead Snow
Burn After Reading
Pieces of April
Xanadu
The Cooler
Millions
Fantastic Planet
In Bruges
Thank You for Smoking
Keeping Mum
Well, this is conveniently timed for me! I just got Netflix a few weeks ago, and have a shiny new TV arriving on Thursday. I may be enjoying some of these recommendations myself.
So far I have been watching mostly British TV shows and movies over streaming. I’m watching Black Adder, A Bit of Fry and Lourie, and Dr. Who (catching up on the early David Tennnt years).
I saw a single man with my Mom (think it was on HBO). It is not on Netflix streaming yet, but may be available on disk. I found it to be quite moving. I may even do a blog post about it. I hadn’t considered Colin Firth to be particularly attractive to me before, but in this character I found him to be quite attractive. He reminded me of an older Ewan McGregor. The movie made me want to either be, or fall in love with, a posh, erudite gentleman who looks good in suites.
You should already be watching the new season of Spartacus. I believe it is called Gods of the Arena. Since it is on Starz, it is available via Netflix streaming.
I just watched the Lookout again. I’d definitely recommend that if you haven’t seen it before. And Cellular..
Pink Flamingos, Craiggers, DEFINITELY Pink Falmingos! It’s kinda like Rocky Horror though, I’ve found it’s better to watch it with someone rather than alone. You can laugh together and groan together.
I’d echo Michelle M.’S Xanadu as well. Guilty Pleasure that!
I’ll add (though you MAY have seen them already):
Trick
Shortbus
Nick & Nora’s Inifinte Playlist
The United State Of Leland
The BOys In the Band
Raising Victor Vargas
Smokin’ Aces
Summer Storm
Finding Neverland
Boy Culture
HUGS…
I think you would like “Nobody’s Fool” with Rosanna Arquette and Eric Roberts. It is one of my favorites.
I recommend Wah-Wah
