Wise words from my Mom! In an e-mail exchange between some family members about Glee my Mom says: “I loved the way Kurt was a strong character, very self confident, and could walk down the hallway in a Lady Gaga outfit. And now you have to be kidding! The same with Santana!!!”
You do?! Awesome! Watch this! It’s a new quit smoking commercial that has gone into rotation during the morning news I watch while I get ready for work.
Man, these guys are playing hardball! It’s a wonder I make it to work in the mornings!
So I spent $50 making copies of my ginormous co-op application last night. I should get bonus points at work for not using our copier for free. But how does one bring that up? “I didn’t use company time and money for my own personal gain! Go me!” Yeah, not so much. And after a late night putting everything together, Dad is dropping everything off today. One more step down!
I don’t know about you guys, but I pay special attention during the credits of Glee to find out which of the three writers wrote the episode. Ian Brennan writes funny episodes, Ryan Murphy writes beat you over the head with a message episodes or lame tribute episodes, and Brad Falchuk writes heart warming and generally awesome episodes. Brad wrote the amazing episodes Preggers, Sectionals, Dream On, and Grilled Cheesus. The last episode he’s written was the really good Special Education sectional episode. I know! That was so long ago! So when I saw that he wrote tonight’s episode Sexy, I was excited, especially since it also included the return of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Holly Holiday who I loved in The Substitute.
But alas, Sexy was an awful fucking mess. What was the storyline again? Oh right, I have no idea. It’s like when everyone loved Kristin Chenoweth the first time around, they shoehorned her into another episode and it made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Since when is Kurt such a freakshow when it comes to sex? Didn’t he ask his dad to learn about gay shiz so he could talk to him about it? Now he’s being all ridiculous about the whole notion. And I love me some developments with the Brittany/Santana relationship, but it was just done so freaking poorly and everyone was acting out of character. I get what they’re trying to do with Santana, but there’s no way you can attribute her bitchy (yet awesome) attitude for two seasons just because of that. Lame.
The only highlight last night was the celibacy club’s hysterical rendition of Afternoon Delight and Gwyneth’s Landslide, which was great, though I have no idea how it fit into the storyline.
My Mortgage Got Approved! Woo hoo! One step closer to being a homeowner! Now I just need to submit my co-op application and interview with the co-op board! EEP!

I love what io9 said: “Even though M. Night Shyamalan tried to kill it, Airbender will live on.” Obviously this is just an image and of course it looks awesome, so I have high hopes, but can they really recapture the same balance of humor, action, and heart as the first series? Let’s hope so! Source.
Oh hey, they’re releasing the extended versions of Lord of the Rings on blu-ray a year after they released the theatrical versions! Sorry to the folks that bought the previous editions, but we’ll take your money again please!
So I finished volume one of Y: The Last Man on friday and I used the $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble which has been burning a hole in my pocket since my birthday in November to buy volumes two through five. It really goes to show how much I like something if I’m willing to part with a precious gift card. The book is amazing. Tons of action and humor along with a really compelling story to keep things moving. I love how the writer’s seemed to have thought of everything when it comes to a situation where all the world’s men (except one, obvs) drop dead. I thought the shift in Washington DC politics and the chaos that caused was particularly clever, as well as the Daughters of the Amazon burning down all the sperm banks. I started volume two this morning and I’m really excited to see where things go. I’ll keep you guys updated on my progress.
