It is. It was the producers idea. It’s like they’re making a joke out of their show. Do we really need more characters for them to ignore?
Doesn’t Season 2 technically count as them making a joke out of their own show?

Do not know who the original Nikki/Paulo is/are.
They’re from Lost. These two universally loathed characters that were introduced in season 3 then killed off.
Ohhh… I had to look them up on Wikipedia (they have an article unto themselves). Didn’t realize they were hated so much but then again I watched Lost on Netflix after it aired so I didn’t have anyone to discuss the show with. I probably hated them at the time and then quietly revelled in their early demise.

Just watched the first two episodes — was surprised to find that the 12 contestants have more talent (in my opinion) than most of the contestants on the latest season of American Idol. Especially more than that twangy crooked-necked winner weirdo that won AI this year.
OMG. A Nikki/Paolo reference AND an Alejandro/Maya reference? Good God. How is it I never had you in my feed reader before. What a travesty!
