An oldie but a goodie:
After viewing my 1000th video post, Steven commented that I sound like Lauren Bacall. Not knowing who this person was, I had to do some investigation to see if the allegations were true. I found this clip from the 1973 TV movie musical called Applause. I can’t say for sure if we sound alike, but I can tell you that she is my new hero. Look at the way those gays throw her around at the end! And those legs!
Okay, here is a clip of her talking. It’s this awesomely cheesy coffee commercial. Again, I’m not sure if her voice is like mine, so I’ll leave that up to you to judge. But watching this clip is worth it, just for the “Mmmmmm” she gives towards the end. She sounds like the pedophile Herbert from Family Guy!
And for those of you who are completely uninterested in me and/or Lauren Bacall, I give you this:
Well what do you know! Today marks my 1000th post! Can you believe it? I’ve been blogging for a little under 3 years, 1070 days to be exact, and I’m up to my 1000th post. So on average I’ve almost blogged everyday! Isn’t that crazy? What could I have possibly talked about all this time? Apparently, some pretty crappy stuff, because in celebration of my 1000th post, I’ve made the following video to commemorate the 10 worst posts I’ve ever done. Enjoy!

As you all know, I’m a huge sucker for Jewel. So needless to say I’m super excited about her new album Perfectly Clear coming out on June 2nd. She decided to go all country for this album which I think is really exciting. Here she is performing the first single “Stronger Woman” live at the Grand Ole Opry:
Okay, I realize about 1% of you will think this is cool, but here is a video of Megan Mullally (I know!) singing my favorite Decemberists song ever: I Was Meant for the Stage:
The lyrics can be a bit hard to decipher in her version, so here is the original version set to a video of some guy displaying 20 years worth of concert tickets. It’s pretty cool, there’s some great names in there.
Here’s a song Robin introduced me to back in college. It’s called Every Litte Thing by Dishwalla. It’s my I-hate-being-single-but-its-my-own-damn-fault song. It’s a great song. Enjoy! In related news: TV is awesome.
The video is boring, but there’s no official video, so it was either this or a tribute to Jack and Kate from LOST, which I refuse to support because Kate should be with Sawyer.
Netflix #25 - Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang - Suggested by Michelle and Jeff
Wow. The was by far one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer made an awesome team as a conman and gay private detective respectively. Not only was it hysterical, but the mystery/thriller aspect was hugely engaging. I love when a comedy takes it plot seriously, and doesn’t resort to a cookie cutter plot just as a means to tell some jokes. It also reminded me a lot of Family Guy and 30 Rock with its cutaway flashes of random humor. Plus Robert Downey Jr.’s narration was priceless. You need to see this movie immediately!
Netflix #26 - August Rush - Suggested by Irisgirl
This one took a while to win me over. I watched it for the first hour absolutely unimpressed. My cold, black heart wasn’t budging one bit. I thought it was ridiculously cliche and annoying. Plus Robin Williams’ storyline was not what I expected at all, and I absolutely hated the whole musical Lost Boys thing he had going on. But as the second hour progressed, my heart started to thaw and by the end I enjoyed it. I still don’t think it’s that great of a movie because of the kinda lame first hour and Robin Williams (who I normally love) but it was a cute little movie. Also: How gorgeous is Keri Russell?
Iron Man
What else is there to say about Iron Man that you haven’t already heard? It’s an incredible comic book movie on the same level as Batman Begins (although Batman Begins is still the pinnacle of comic book movies). I guess what I can say about the movie that you may not have heard yet is that it will make you like Gwyneth Paltrow again. I mean, after she nearly ruined the otherwise awesome Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow with her atrocious acting and then named her kid Apple, I was all set to be annoyed by her mere presence in the movie. But she came across totally cute and charming. There. Now go see it. Not just for me, for Gwyneth.
My Recommendation to You: The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra
You guys are nice enough to give me loads of recommendations, so it’s about time I returned the favor. So I gladly present you with a 2001 movie you’ve probably never heard of called The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra. It’s a throwback to the really bad science fiction movies of yesteryear. It’s absolutely ridiculous and wonderful. I’m not sure if it’s exactly laugh-out-loud funny, but I had a huge smile on my face the entire time I watched it. Here’s the trailer so you can get a taste for what you’re in for.
Keep your recommendations coming!
1. Deal or No Deal Model Theater - Heroes
They also did The Office and Bionic Woman. The model playing Dwight in The Office parody only has one line, but she is genius.
2. I watched the four New Caprica episodes from Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica last weekend. I love those episodes so so so much. The Exodus episodes are movie-level awesomeness. Remember when the Galactica jumped to the planet’s surface and released all the Vipers and then jumped back out? And remember when the Pegasus came flying in to save the day? Incredible! Oh, and Adama called Apollo a “fatass”, which is pretty awesome too.
3. I’m going to Pennsylvania this weekend for my godson’s christening, which reminds me, I should do a post about my three godchildren. They are all wonderfully fantastic individuals. You will love them.
4. Who else is watching Survivor? Last night’s episode was all sorts of awesome. Jason: I love you, but sometimes I wish you were either smarter, or quieter. Erik: Cut your hair. I can’t decide who’s hair I hate more: Your’s or Jason Catro’s from American Idol? Ozzy: You suck. Eliza: You’re crazy, but I kinda love you and I think if I were on Survivor I would be exactly like you.
5. I think today’s Dilbert was written just for me:

Those clips I posted yesterday may not have painted Bollywood films in the greatest light. To make up for it, I’m posting a clip from my favorite Bollywood movie (okay, the only Bollywood movie I’ve seen) Bride and Prejudice, a Bollywood version of Pride and Prejudice. This is my favorite part, when Lalita (Lizzie), Jaya (Jane), Maya (Mary), and Lakhi (Lydia, there is no “Kitty” character) all sing about the loser Mr Kohli (Mr. Collins) who came to town to propose marriage to Lakhi and states that for him, there is “no life, without wife”.
And here’s the trailer:
The fourth and (sadly) final season of Battlestar Galactica starts tonight! I am so excited! Michelle is having a viewing party at her place. I may very well wear my “Frakkin Toasters” t-shirt. To celebrate the return of the best show ever, below are some of my favorite scenes from the series, which I think everyone can enjoy, not just hardcore fans such as myself.
Starbuck and Leoben spread the love:
President Roslin takes care of business (without the aid of an airlock!):
Helo takes on Cylon Skinjobs on the original Caprica:
The Battlestar Pegasus takes on Hundreds of Cylon Raiders:
Starbuck escapes from the Cylon Farm:
Okay fine, you caught on! They’re not really scenes from Battlestar Galactica (except the first one, which is my favorite scene ever). But here’s one more anyway:
Kat flies through radiation and saves the day:
You are SO welcome for that last one.
Here is the top ten list from this Wednesday’s David Letterman. It’s the top ten reasons to watch Battlestar Galactica, presented by the cast of Battlestar Galactica:
